the atmosphere as we drive and fly. it actually occurs naturally on earth. when we add to that it acts as a warming as the sun light comes in and acts as glass over the top of our atmosphere where heat comes in but does not escape. that's one of the reasons we've seen a climate change and some global warming that's all contributed to the fact we're adding more carbon dioxide to the air. but according to the bay area air management district they're saying they've seen a decrease in carbon dioxide by 26% over this past pont, and those other reductions from air quality and the particulate matter are about 26% because of the less cars traveling on the road. well talk more about this over the next few days as our temperatures warm up across the bay area we're going to get a little taste of summer as we

head to the end of the week. earth day is tomorrow. we're going to see our temperatures continuing to warm up. end of the week we're looking at mid-80s for the inland areas. this weekend still some warm weather across the bay area with san francisco reaching into the low 60s. we'll be in the upper 60s for the rest of the week. and, mike, we're all going to be talking about how we're emitting carbon dioxide. by staying at home we're actually saving more and a lot of those pollutants are not going into the atmosphere. how is it looking now? >> good. you say we are emitting less carbon dioxide i thought you were coming one a dad joke. we'll talk about the real science. the real traffic, it is going well, kari. a smooth drive. i want to point out one section of the nimitz freeway in oakland. there was a crash north 80 as you approach high street and then a traffic break that cleared. then i saw some slowing as that cleared. there's also construction in the
