experiences. it's not all about the problems we were talking about but just hearing each other is really a big part of moving forward and, laura, i know we've talked -- we openly talk about a lot of things. >> we do. and we have. >> and that's the thing -- >> for a long time. we just like conversation. >> it is that open conversation. >> and that's why i watched obviously last night, i was supporting you, but when you said that to jessica, it kind of caught me off guard because i thought, wow, i took it personally, i guess, even when you walk into the newsroom, you feel like that? because i feel like we're so close and we do have a lot of those conversations about, you know, race and upbringing and discrimination. and i was struck, like, oh, i hope you don't feel that way around the people that love and support you. >> and when you realize it and you're conscious of it doesn't mean you're uncomfortable. work is a very safe space.

welcome back, everyone. for so many bay area families trying to make ends meet, it's even more difficult right now. a lot of bills have been piling up. people aren't working and they have little or no money coming in. >> short-term loan might seem like a solution. chris chmura has a word of advice and caution. >> reporter: good morning. the consumer financial protection bureau says it's logged more than 31,000 complaints about consumer loans since 2011. many involve payday loans which are easier than ever to get online. the california public interest research group is warning that a short-term payday loan can have long-term consequences. >> these loans have sky high interest rates, often 400% or more and that adds up really quickly and can force borrowers to take out new loans again and again trapping you in a cycle of debt. >> reporter: also, watch out for lenders who might try to entice
