planes crashed. it's unlikely anyone survived that crash. the national transportation safety board will likely take over the investigation. the nation is emerging from a violent holiday weekend. in the big apple, 42 people were shot throughout new york city and nine of those victims died. a spokesperson for the department says most of those shootings happened within a 15-hour period. chicago's gun tally was even higher. police say at least 69 people were shot, 16 people including a young girl were killed. in a tweet chicago mayor lori light foot condemned the shooting say we must stop the violence before it starts. 23 were shot and wound during the holiday weekend and among the victims, an 8-year-old girl who was shot and killed in a car. >> we've got to stop this. we are doing each other more harm than any police officer on this force. >> this, as authorities in south
