dragging a woman. the wednesday night encounter was posted to social media. it happened near east santa clara street and 101 in downtown san jose. it appears to show the police officer kicking a woman while she's kneeling on the ground during a traffic stop. sjpd tells us there was a warrant to seize the car because officers had twice tried to stop it, but it sped off. you can see what happens when the video zoomed in. the woman is pinned to the ground, handcuffed and dragged several feet. the other officer has his gun drawn talking to the passenger, who can be heard saying they just bought the car. josh gil, whom you just saw, shot the video and tells us he saw two children in the back seat of the car as this all unfolded. >> i just want vus for this woman and her family. that's the main concern. that's the main reason i videotaped it. >> in a tweet san jose mayor san liccardo wrote, quote, this video is deeply disturbing and the officer's conduct appalling. this demands severe consequences, end quote.

we have learned that the officer has been put on paid leave. meanwhile, that woman, 39-year-old esperanza marin of san jose was booked into jail. she faces charges of driving on a suspended license, possession of paraphernalia and resisting arrest. now to a hate crime that targeted an a mean yen school in san francisco. members of the armenian school arrived yesterday to find the building covered with graffiti. the messages included profanity and anti-armenian messages. last night members of the community gathered for a vigil to denounce the attack. the school gave security videos to police. investigators tell us the investigation is just beginning. it will take some time to determine if this should be ruled a hate crime. now to continued heartbreak for the al media sheriff county's department, two employees have died of covid-19 since thursday. the most recent employee lost
