we're going to see a lot of fog in san francisco and along the coast. while it's a clear start for the inland areas and we're all going to have a nice cooldown as we go into the next couple of days let's check out our temperatures today as we reach into the low 80s in napa we'll see some mid-90s still for the far north bay. for the east bay up to 88 degrees in antioch but check out san jose. we're reaching into the upper 70s for a high and san francisco will reach 64 degrees. here are the changes we'll see as we go through today. so the fog will get thicker and it's going to get so deep in the atmosphere that we're going to see some heavy drizzle especially along the coastline. some of that could reach inland. we're looking at san mateo county where you see some green there that could mean some light rain, misting and drizzling that it does accumulate to at least some light amounts of rain. as we look through the forecast going into today as well as tomorrow expect that drizzle

once again and some much cooler it temperatures for the rest of the bay area with some clouds moving in, up to about 0.07 of an inch. nice to see in the middle of august and then we look at our temperatures that will reach into the mid-70s for tomorrow for some of our warmest spots inland. and then as we go through the week we're going to heat up. then we check out san francisco. we're going to see those temperatures in the upper 60s. we've also been tracking the tropics and what's going on with what's now tropical storm isaias as it continues to move up the atlantic coast. i want to show you some live pictures we had of that storm as it continued to make landfall yesterday evening. we're checking out myrtle beach, south carolina, with a live view. and the people there are dealing with the flooded roads because of that tropical storm as isaias continues to move to the north. now to nbc bay area's jay gray who is live in wilmington, north carolina, with a look at those

bob, what are the teachers saying? >> reporter: one teacher tells "the mercury news" the decision to force her back into a classroom screams disrespect. that's her quote. the paper reporting san jose unified is requiring nearly all of its 1,600 teachers to be on campus in the classroom when teaching their students virtually. in spite of the teachers' concerns over contracting the coronavirus while sharing common areas, working from home not an option. the district says they are working on a combination for teachers with child care and medical needs. one teacher tells the paper that they can take 12 weeks of partial paid time off to deal with issues at home. anything after that would be unpaid. the district wants teachers for the best quality instruction possible. other classrooms already have tools for instruction, reliable wi-fi and immediate support if any problems should arise. the district says it would clean

high-touch surfaces and common areas and will require social distancing among staff. san jose unified is one of the only, if not the only, district requiring teachers to return to the classroom while students stay at home. elementary school students could be eligible to return to the classroom. "the chronicle" reports the state would allow the return if the county's rate of infection is below 200 per 100,000 people, which every county right now in the bay area is. it would be up to the county's health department whether to go through the plan to let the kids return. again, elementary school students. bob redell, "today in the bay." all right, thank you very much, bob. speaking of keeping up in the classroom, students are prepping to begin mostly at home. leaders are trying to make sure they can make that internet connection. supervisors will vote to spend

intensive care, as we do a better job of saving them, they will be in the icu longer amounts of time. >> treatments helping improve survival rates including drugs like remdesivir as well as high flow oxygen and techniques like having patients lie on their stomachs. livermore may get a million dollar boost to help homeless folks trying to make it in the bay. happening today alameda county supervisors will vote to approve the use of some federal funds from -- not federal funds, these are funds from the east county economic development fund. the proposal is being done in partnership with a local church and looks to establish 31 tiny homes in a community in collaboration with the city of livermore. and in san francisco a win for tenants who can't pay their rent during the pandemic. a judge ruled in favor of the city's eviction ban. in june landlords sued the city

saying that the eviction ban moratorium was unconstitutional because it conflicted with a statewide ban and argued tenants would stop paying their rent altogether. a breezy wind with the fog retreating across much of the bay area and i think we'll start out with so we'll talk more about that and what's ahead as we go into the next 24 hours with a lot of changes ahead. mike, you've been keeping an eye on the commute. how is that changing? >> we are looking at an area in oakland where there's a problem but it's not the bay bridge toll plaza. take a look at the maps and we'll give you an idea looking at the quadrant, in alameda county. the slowing obvious in the middle of the screen. really jamming up approaching broadway and approaching highway 13 coming out of the caldecott. the crash left debris in the roadway. no injuries but that will slow you down.
