the duke and dutchess of sussex turn to streaming making a major multiyear deal with netflix joining us from beijing, tell us more about this new hollywood gig for them >> reporter: this is a block buster deal for harry and meghan to produce tv series, films and children's programming for netflix after holding meetings with several hollywood studios and streaming rivals netflix isn't attaching a dollar value so the deal, but if based on past megawatt deals that they've signed and combined with some of the rumors that have been circulating about what the couple was looking for, this could be worth upwards of $100 million the couple doesn't have a lot of experience in producing content but this is sheer star power

that they are bringing to netflix, joining high profile figures like barack and michelle obama in signing these big production deals as we know, the couple stepped away from being senior members of the royal family back in january. they moved to los angeles, they bought a house in santa barbara, they said they wanted to be financially independent but in doing so they agreed to give up their royal sussex brand as for what we can expect to watch from their yet to be named production house in a statement, harry and meghan said they want to focus on projects that create impact, that inspire, that inform, but also give hope they say the focus is going to be on quote, inspirational family programming, but that they like this partnership with netflix because of the global reach of the platform in saying that they can be impactful and perhaps unlock action in their words. so we're just going to have to stay tuned to see what's next.
