air. >> most of the time i'm just in. but i figured it didn't look too bad today, but i guess as they say looks can be t a change of plans for this group who meets at this local park every weekend. some deciding to skip their usual morning walk. >> there was too much smoke. too much particulate matter in the air. >> reporter: i got to speak with aaron richardson with the bay area air quality management district who says we can expect more of this bad air quality as the wildfire smoke continues to drop to the ground level. and while it may be frustrating for folks to stay inside as we deal with these unhealthy air levels, even if you're not in the at-risk kind of go out for a little bit if you have to run errands, things like that. but there really aren't a ton of definitive studies for, you know, when air quality gets this

this shows the number of daily cases, new daily cases, since march. you can see that cases peaked thursday in mid-august. since then, the number of cases, they've declined. case levels are similar to how they were in june when the shelter-at-home toward was lifted. over in england, oxford university says trials for its coronavirus vaccine are going to resume. that announcement comes days after it was paused due to reported side effect in a patient. the university says it's common for some patients to have a reaction during large vaccine trials. it's important that they evaluate every case to ensure the safety of the vaccine. oxford's not disclosing the reasons for the patient's reaction due to confidentiality. university says they will continue to monitor this patient closely. apparently just one patient, 18,000 people are estimated to have received this vaccine as part of the trial. two pilot projects are being rolled out at uc san diego, at uc san francisco this month, in
