welcome back and a very good morning to you. thank you for joining us. here's a look at the top stories we're following. breaking for you right now a live look in san jose and the scene of a deadly stabbing. police have closed off santa clara street near san jose city hall. so far police are only saying someone died from their injuries. it's not clear if someone is in custody. santa clara street is closed and it's not clear when it will reopen. overnight a crash in san jose happened before 1:00 at 3rd and taylor streets. a driver ran a stop side and t-boned the patrol car. we learned the officer has been treated and released. the other driver suffered major injuries but will survive.

>> the united states reached another grim milestone in the fight against coronavirus. over 200,000 people have died in the u.s. cases in the united states currently topping 6.7 million. california has now surpassed 15,000 coronavirus deaths. the state has the fourth highest number of deaths in the country following new york, new jersey, and texas along with 780,000 confirmed cases. san francisco is gearing to reopen more businesses. cierra johnson is live with more. >> reporter: three new business types are able to reopen. those businesses include zoos and aquariums, indoor museums and pre-k through sixth grade in-person learning. they come with some caveats. they will be opening with
