>> eddie: well the speed of denis gurianov beautiful pass from janmark gets a fortunate break but gurianov takes it and tries it all in one motion but he had to hurry the play because hedman forced him probably shoot the puck a little quicker than he wanted. >> brian: and palat couldn't get this puck to kind of settle down for him and klingberg was able to get back in time and get it out of harm's way. a couple missed opportunities at both ends of the ice . >> mike: going to have another icing here another chance for gurianov. he wanted to try to get vasilevskiy to move left to right. get him to move as far as he could. and then throw it back the other way. going to try to get him to move all the way over and as he is going down to shoot back to where he came from, give hedman credit for the recovery. taken to the outside by palat.

all night long if you're vasilevskiy right into the mid section. a beautiful pass there to allow cogliano the opportunity from heiskanen. >> cirelli prevailed as he did earlier in the defensive zone. and his team was able to bank it back down. it is set there by khudobin and can be played by heiskanen able to accelerate ahead and lob it back in taken by rutta smoked out by pavelski back off of coleman. turned along by oleksiak right back down where victor hedman can play. it's just about every other shu shift for the defense right now. fakes the shot that one directed away off the

boards could not be grabbed by khudobin right back around it comes cernak able to deal it back in yanni gourde sees this one come back cernak fired it back around. it careened over to sergachev. then along gordon a shot. gourde a shot. mike coleman that wouldn't go. lobbed on further. that one knifed down gourde yet again holding now. gourde wanted to play it along to coleman and he wedged his body in there and got it right back on to gourde once more change occurring on the fly here for tampa bay while in puck possession jabbed on by sergachev around behind now for coleman. led between the pointmen and it'll have to be chased down and the players will make changes for both teams pat maroon able to bring it right back up. maroon chased also wiping out and getting back to his feet is kiviranta. as it is worked back along and verhaeghe was there.

but right back in on the hard around and waiting is klingberg able to grab it and then force the pass that goes all the way down and becomes another icing >> brian: we mentioned the good play of the gourde line last overtime and good job by gourde to find coleman the shot on goal relatively harmless for anton khudobin one thing that is important right now as you get into the fifth period is that if you're a goaltender and particularly, you know, if you're khudobin and your team is a little bit undermanned and tired it is important. if you can get a chance to freeze pucks slow it down whenever you can don't keep plays alive unnecessarily. >> mike: palat got it back over to hedman fires. getting a piece of that is khudobin brought back out, long pass. hoping for corey perry but instead it is shattenkirk. long toss ahead, dealt back in by brayden point takes it behind. rattles it around.

>> eddie: a lot of the better looks in this game have come from the back end on either team a shot pass and what a brilliant save by khudobin point gets the stick down and right off the left toe then johnson the last rush face-off to the left >> brian: an incredible save by khudobin and one that had real speed. probably you don't have the appreciation for it but on the replay you can see how big a play that was by khudobin. >> mike: so many questions asked about his ability to play back-to-back games size, age, and all of that question mark replaced by an exclamation point thus far in this rattled on around now for coleman. wedged off by lindell.

gurianov tried to get the puck behind a defenseman and a little foot race and good strength. thru see gurianov, and the referee blew it off for an off side rutta has done a nice job coming in after the injuries to bogosian and schenn and jon cooper going to the normal six and 12 forwards the last couple games. he's done a nice job >> mike: shot along and lifted back in brought in by perry. seguin in front. that one blocked aside by vasilevskiy. perry handing it off klingberg at the back. drives one rebound. right around in front. they score the stars win in double overtime

he gets tagged like that. he played an incredible first-half for you. >> i know. he's as tough as it getstop it took him a long time because it goes back to high school. he was always physical and wanted to play linebacker and stuff. one day he threw the ball incomplete on something else and threw it back the coach really far away. and you're like, wow. and he's like i'll try it. and that's kind of how it happened. he's always had hath mentality. the guy never talks about getting hit. i'm usually watching so i know when he gets hit. but sometimes i'll be like why didn't you throw the ball? what happened? me can get hit every play and doesn't mention anything. for him to fight through that, especially the next series, i think it'ser the third series, he score oden the first play of that series. and then we have a drive, that

he didn't really have anyone open and have it off scheduled for the first half and that kept the drive alive. a very impressive game for him. >> it was obvious you had to get some imaging done. and nick comes in, which is hard. because there is no preseason, no off season on the field. he's a hard worker but not getting anything to work hard at. you need an assessment the way he functioned last week and wrtz he at? he came in for a few kneel downs but he really hasn't played with the preseason of 19 but really sings going back to december of 2018. so, where is he at in his career, coach? >> nick's ready to go. i'll be surprise fd he doesn't play well. he got thrown in that game. i think it's been a while since the new guy's been in there.

we've had a great week of practice and found all the reps. i'm pumped to see him sunday. m flows for sure to keep some drives alive. you mentioned you've only had two first-play of the game touchdown calls with that kind of difference. have you ever converted in your career a third and 31 when it was ant pass play and some kind of defensive hold or something where your back up is in back and you pick up 55 yards and you haven't seen that before? >> no. that was amazing. it was pretty cool. last year i got so mad because he kept false starting and doing dumb things. we end upd getting third and 30. i took 21 personnel back on and it was more just irritation on my part to punish. all right, guys.

get in on this play. and so, everyone thought it was that again but it's completely different. it's the same play we got called back on, on the holding on the 70 yarder. and we're sitting on third and 30. usually we keep 11 in there on a draw or screen. to be in a better punt situation. we thought the best play was how it's been hitting. see if we can get that run again. the coolest part was they took their nickel off and put the base defense back on. so, it ended up being just like first-down play in terms of what the offense and defense is doing. chad made a cutback foreman the three safeties. and i wasn't expecting to get the first. but we did believe we had a chance because of how it had been going earlier in the game. a great job by all 11 of the guys.

him, his agent deals with john and talking contracts and stuff. i remember him calling me to say hey, kyle, i need to know if i'm coming back, i need know there's no limitations on me. my knee feels good. i just want to be treated like a healthy guy. i told him yes and kept with my promise on that. it's been easy to ease mim him in the game. and they really earn that first-down role, which allows for the substitutions. both beit having rahim and not having teven for the next month or so, we'll see how that goes. i know he wants a portion and

just versatility and the run and pass are very similar. you can make guys miss in the running and pass game. i know we'll be ready to go, he'll be prepared and it's a tough battle. >> last week, around the league, there were seven different interior cruciat ligament tears and you know that well, because you suffered two of them. you had two guys carted off the field. nick bosa and solomon thomas. and ford's out. so, you're minus three quarters of what i call your gold rush, when you go to the pass rushing group but you call inturbo. what do you do when you go -- you brought in a guy, deonjordan, you were looking a at few years ago. when you want to go to the speed pass rush, how do you manufacture a pass rush?

>> mitch is a great player right there, but it's also our deepest. and i'm bringing in ziggy. he has setbacks this last couple of years. just getting to practice for the first time on wednesday. i know it's not one or two guys. and it was tough. we watched two really good players. the reality of it is we lost two guys. some of the other guys we're going to get back. we have a real good team. i know that was our strength last year. we can have a number of good players, that it can be a good part of our team also. fortunately, that's not all we have. we're not just going to pick it

he knows the offense inside and out. knows every detail. things like that. i don't think there's anything you have to take off the table for him. the one thing i worry about is you haven't played a ton of football and maybe you throw a reckless interception or decision. we saw that last week. i hope he reigns it in a little early. don't be too overly aggressive. mulleins is -- he's got a good arm, quick release, smart. of course he's not as good as jimmy garoppolo. but we saw moments two years ago where we went dam, mulleins is moving this team up and down the field and the giants defense is nothing to write home about. to where even though, w running back injuries and everything like that, i believe mulleins and shanahan will be able to pull off enough plays and points to win this football game.
