5:47 am
tuesday's debate, goodern moi m has been called the worst debate certainly the worst ever televised and the commission is talking about giving the moderator or some kind of referee power over the microphones in the debate to prevent interruptions. it will be interesting to see how well that works. you may have to put candidates in separate rooms if the interruptions don't stop. joe biden said he's up for whatever the commission decides. >> my hope is that they are able to literally say the question gets asked to trump and he has the microphone and two minutes to answer the question and no one else has a microphone and then i don't know what the actual rules are going to be, literally. but that would seem to me to make some sense. but i'm looking forward to it. >> during tuesday's debate, president trump was asked to condemn white supremacists and, sure, he said. but then he never specifically did despite both biden and

not going to be the case for us today, kari, because, of course, the fire still burning and the air quality still not that great for us out there. >> no, not that great for today and we have a lot of concerns here. let's start out with the red flag warning that we have for all of our bay area hills above 1,000 feet. originally it was issued for the north bay mountains and around the glass fire, but that has been expanded. and then now we also have the heat advisory that will be in effect for today as our temperatures crank up a few more degrees and then we're watching out for that spare the air alert that has been extended through tomorrow. and we're also being asked to conserve energy with that flex alert. so, let's take a look at where we do have that red flag warning for today. starts at 1:00 this afternoon. once again, now including the d irx to iablo range and the ant santa cruz mountains. going through that wind forecast. a northerly wind brings in more smoke from the glass fire and it will increase today. i think some of the highest

winds will see that for tomorrow afternoon. at times maybe even gusting higher than 30 miles per hour. once this system moves out and our winds calm down, we'll have a little bit of a westerly wind that will help improve our air quality for the weekend. so, it looks pretty bad up until saturday when we could see some lessening of that smoke as high pressure starts to move off towards the west. it won't be as intense in bringing that hot weather and the stagnant air conditions that we're seeing right now creating that bad air quality. so, our temperatures today reaching into the triple digits. still pretty hot tomorrow and then we start to see some easing of that heat on saturday, as well as sunday, through early next week. while san francisco will see some low 70s today and it will warm up slightly over the next couple days. mike, you're tracking the commute. anything new coming up? >> new commuters waiting at the bay bridge toll plaza. there are more folks there.
