burning right now. we've had them this year, really sad to see all of that going on. so as we look at our temperatures really hot and we are continuing with that red flag warning, the high fire danger. as hot as 101 degrees in antioch with san jose reaching 94. napa reaching 94 degrees. but then as we look to the end of the forecast at what's going on across the region we are seeing this large storm system moving across the gulf of alaska. as we go into next week we'll be watching another storm system coming in right behind that that could draw in the remnants from what is now hurricane marie that could move into the bay area with the potential of some rain next weekend. until then dry conditions for this weekend and slightly cooler temperatures up to 99 today and 89 tomorrow.

mid-80s by the weekend. and we can see how it cools down, possibly some better air quality after tuesday and for san francisco we estimate 80s today but then we'll see much cooler conditions as the fog returns by the end of the weekend. we're going to see those highs in the mid-60s extending into next week. we'll have more on that. mike, what is the update for the morning commute? well, kari, after the traffic alert and the road crews clear from oakland, we have no real big red flags right now. i want to take you to the bay bridge toll plaza. look at this shot. things look interesting coming off the 880 overcrossing. the flyover moving turnover to the left side of your screen. that's the area that's slow. i'm not sure why. maybe they don't have one of those cash lanes open. we haven't gotten any official notification. the volume typical of friday, lighter but off 880 a little tough off the flyover. as we look at your map a smooth

right now. a very good morning to you. thanks so much for joining us. i'm laura garcia. >> and i'm marcus washington. time to get a look at the forecast for you before you head out this morning. meteorologist kari hall has been monitoring every aspect because there is a lot going on. still a fire danger for us, kari. absolutely especially this afternoon as the winds will pick up once again. all of our elevations above 1,000 feet will have the high fire danger but, of course, we're closely watching the area around the glass fire as it could fan the flames even more. we do have a cool start this morning and a mostly calm wind with our temperatures in the mid-50s in the north bay. we have some mid-60s for much of the rest of the bay area. look at how hot it will be this afternoon as we reach 94 in the south bay. napa today reaching 94. we'll talk more about this coming up. mike, what's the update on the morning commute? kari, great news at the bay

postponed all upcoming engagements. the news comes just hours after we learned one of the president's top aides, hope hicks, tested positive for coronavirus. >> this is a lot, over to people, who may have been in contact with hicks in the 48-hour period she may have been active with covid-19. that includes rudy giuliani, ivanka trump, husband jared kushner and others. one doctor says the network of people who are possibly exposed to the virus is almost unlimited. >> but hope hicks may be a super spreader, walking around in close proximity while she was sick. if she had symptoms yesterday or the day before yesterday and has tested positive she could have for the last two weeks before that been infected and asymptomatic but able to spread the coronavirus. >> we should also add we found out this morning vice president

feel not knowing what's going on. right now we are in calistoga, also highway 29, rather, where there was a fire overnight. still a very active scene. i don't know if you can see that property. you can see those fire trucks there. this was a home that you showed a couple minutes ago with those flames off of the freeway. at one point last night not only were they battling this fire but they were also battling -- working to prevent the fire from jumping the highway. a fire line was drawn to prevent that fire from jumping across 29 and throughout napa county. folks are seeing the impact. fire on the side of the road burned homes throughout the area. just a couple miles down the road a family in st. helena who recently lost their homes to the glass fire spoke about what this journey has been like for them. take a listen to their reaction on the out-of-control flames.

as we've seen a cooler morning and not much of a wind valleys, but as you go up in elevat expecting some of the higher winds and where the red flag warning continues. it's going to heat up again today and the winds will increase as we go into the afternoon as our temperatures will reach back into the 90s today and the humidity will be going down. looking at the wind direction a northwesterly wind will keep the smoke moving into the bay area especially for the east bay but we're expecting those winds to increase today which could fan the flames and possibly make them shift in different directions and be a little bit more unpredictable through at least early tomorrow morning. we're watching that. mike, you're watching the roads. how is it looking for the commute? kari, i'll show folks what i was watching. the live look. i saw flashing lights heading north going away from us, away from sausalito side. things in the last five minutes have completely cleared up.
