it is about midnight there. the president is hitting five different states today in just 12 hours. >> the president is promising supporters tax cut and as well as step up support of military. he urged black americans and suburban women to get out to vote for him. >> two days from now we are going to win my home state of florida. we are going to win four more years in the white house. >> tomorrow the president has another campaign and election, he's set to attend five rallies including north carolina, michigan and wisconsin. joe biden zeroed in on his home state of pennsylvania today. this state could put either candidate on the top. biden will spend his campaign there.

there seems to be voter turn out record that are breaking here in the bay area and across the country. there has been questions about election integrity and even concerns about what may happen when the polls close on tuesday night. we were in marin county where election officials have been working for days processing ballo ballots. more than 121,000 ballots have been returned that exceeded ballots that were cast in the march's primaries and they're expecting to have more people turn out in the next couple of days. >> in the march's primary, our turn out was around 116,000. we have received more votes by mail ballots. >> i will not look at social media for the next couple of days. i ask my husband to let me know when the results are in and i will go to bed.

>> reporter: as the close of election polls draw closer, the stress is rising for many. they already casted their ballots in san francisco but the worries continue. that's their reoccurring theme for a lot of voters concerned of what will happen on thursday. according to american psychological association, they're getting reports from democrats and republicans and independents about rising concerns over the election, how to deal with some of that and some advise they're going to be offering coming up on nbc bay area news at 11:00. live in san francisco, sergio quintana. thank you so much for the report. this was the scene at the mexican heritage plaza. poll workers reassuring everyone it is safe and easy. >> with social distancing and sanitizing for people, anybody is free to come in. does not matter where you are from, you can vote.

we welcome everybody. >> reporter: there are about 100 voting centers currently up and running in santa clara. the final push happens on the peninsula as well, coming up at 9:30. we'll take you to the san mateo center. here is why people are saying they are voting in person even during the pandemic. the warriors continuing people to vote while casting their ballots as well. mike brown and damian lee voted yesterday. the warriors arena is opened as an election center. steve kerr dropped off his ballot yesterday. millions of ballots already cast here in california. more than 10.6 million votes by mail ballots have been sent in. this shows the latest percentage of ballots cast in each county. you can see with the exception of solano county. everyone is over 50% and take a

home security camera. a lot of gunshots ringing out about 1:00 this morning. we obtained some neighbors, you can see the chaotic scene and car is driving away and people are running in every direction. a disagreement at the party is clayed. it happened at albertine lane. again, it is in brentwood. a 23-year-old woman was struck but not seriously hurt. a church held an in-door service today while facing a fine of $350,000. from santa clara. the county repeatedly told the church that it can only have in-door gathering up to 100 people who wear masks. the church has held weekly services with hundreds of people without masks or social distancing. you are watching video of the church.

we did stop by today and we saw more people entering for tod today's service. the church leader refused to work with them so they had no other choice to give them a fine. the court hearing is for tomorrow. chinese new year's parade is officially off for next year. the city's chambers of commerce decided to cancel it because of coronavirus. a broadcast special will be aired on february 20th to ubshe in the year of the ox. it is the largest of its kind outside of asia. first, it was hand sanitizers and toilet paper. now a run on other products. outdoor patio heaters and propane as people are looking to stay outside and socially distance as the weather cools. marianne favro is in los gatos.

deny the report. prince charles got diagnosed with covid and recovered. england is set to begin a second lockdown later this week. boris johnson announced that shutdown yesterday. the new restriction would apply to england. bars and restaurants only ordering take out and non-essential shops have to close and people only can leave home for essential reasons. a vote is scheduled for wednesday. the shutdown with them starts on thursday and end december 2nd. stock future falls slightly. ahmad concern of covid could slow the global economy. tuesday's election as well as surging covid cases are all playing into the shaky future. the dow jones were down by 40

end up. that could have a big impact if we get rain or more wind. here is some of the weather headlines as we head back to the workweek, warm start 80s around the bay area. it will be dry for election day. rain chances in the much cooler temperatures as we head towards the weekend. let's show you some of the temperatures outside right now and we do have 50s and 60s currently, not much in the way of fog. humidity is up a little bit more tonight. a few areas may be waking up to patchy fog. currently 64 degrees in san francisco. walnut creek at 54 degrees. you may have noticed today a little more haze in the air. you don't have a lot of winds as you get into fall and winter. it is not spare the air day tomorrow. all bay area, high level of smoke pollution will be in the east bay and south bay. for the morning, may see some

patches of fog as we wake up to 40s and 50s. 42 in santa rosa. the afternoon, summer-like temperatures again. santa rosa and san jose, upper 70s and san francisco near 80 degrees in oakland. last night, we had an areal of low pressure forecasted, the pattern with the same low is a little bit further to the north. that presents another issue where shower chances will likely be better for parts of the north bay and north of interstate 80. this is the critical part of the forecast where that low ends up more on the coast or to the north could really have a big impact on our rainfall chances. for san francisco, you got 70s to start the week and notice the drop in temperatures we'll be seeing highs in the low 60s by next weekend and valleys tomorrow, mid to upper 80s.

weeks for their mail-in ballots to arrive. >> this year we are having a lot of problems with mail delivery. i have not had mail for the last three days. >> reporter: our investigative unit teamed with nbc stations across the country to put the postal service to the test to see if the system delivers by promise. we mailed out 800 letters and a third of them is twice as many letters since we mailed in september. two-thirds of them are here in the bay area as well as to l.a. and san diego and cities like new york, washington, dallas and chicago. the election is weeks away, we find a significant slow down. >> 88% arrived within three days. in october, that drop to only

we are all rooting for rain. >> or sierra snow. that would be nice too. an extension of the weather we have seen, warm day continues in the 80s. we'll be dry for election day. nothing is slowing it down other than a patchy fog. what we are most interested in, what about those rain chances. first, what's happening outside right now, we got hazy skies around san jose. 60 degrees currently. humidity levels are up. light wind and patchy fog setting you around areas like the north bay. winds is relatively light in san francisco, 64 degrees. you may see the return of coastal fog living north and south down the coast. 40s and 50s outside. low clouds out there and high
