"early today" starts right now good monday morning. i'm phillip mena. >> glad you're starting the new week with us i'm frances rivera joe biden is the president-elect securing the office that's twice eluded him before. nbc news projected his win in pennsylvania on saturday pushing him past the threshold of 270 electoral votes. his margin of victory could further widen as further votes are tallied. he continues to hold a lead over president trump in georgia and arizona. biden and kamala harris will hit the ground running today laying out their transition strategy and announcing a coronavirus task force nbc's tracie potts joins us from capitol hill with the latest tracie plenty of challenges lie ahead for the president-elect.
