schools. i want to ask you about that new york city recently went back to at-home learning only, some other big cities have made the same choice. what will you do to get kids back in school how much will you be working the phones and working with governors and mayors >> well, it takes a lot of money to get them back, the estimates are 150 to 200 billion dollars for the year to safely open our schools. for example, we know we have to change everything from the ventilation systems in schools, we know we have to change the sanitary -- we have to take manufacture -- everyone from sanitary workers right through to the bus drivers, they have to be exclude in, they have to be protected and they need the ppe, they need the gear, they need the ability to have smaller modules of classes. >> you've got schools closed right now in places where restaurants are open are our priorities correct do both, but, looki', m very to concerned about the schools and, for example, i was on call

the california hiker is lucky to be alive after being trapped under a fallen boulder highway patrol and rescue teams were able to find the man after receiving his call for help. he had been stukd under the rock for hours and was transported to a hospital in stable condition if he hadn't gotten his cellphone out of his pocket before the battery died they wouldn't have found his gps location this is the case so glad to have that on. >> i'm glad that had a happy ending for him. this year plenty of people could use a helping hand

two teens in maine realized that and started a fundraising effort that has seen an outpouring of support. reporter shannon moss with our wcsh affiliate has more on this story. >> reporter: sean allen and charlie moore are friends and fellow freshmen at greely high school in cumberland this summer while working a part-time job together they came up with an idea. >> wouldn't it be cool to start a nonprofit organization to help kids in need. >> a lot of kids we see that are not very fortunate and we want to like make them feel happy. >> reporter: so with the support of their family these teens created backpacks for a change at first the plan was to stuff backpacks with school supplies, but -- >> everything happened so fast, the covid-19 and everything, so we kind of looked ahead to the winter and thought clothing and winter clothes. >> reporter: the community quickly took notice. >> so a lot of people just sent in donations and they said just
