as we know not every rural clinic can have one of these ultra-cold freezers for the pfizer vaccine what we've seen pharmacies do is packing up these coolers filled with ice packs they pack them full of the vaccine, and folks from the more rural clinics have been coming to pick them up, as far as 150 miles away, communities as small as 700 people. this vaccine is really getting everywhere, but timing is key here the pharmacists set the timer for five minutes, take the vaccine out of the freezer that's how much time they have to pack them in these coolers here the precision is also important, phillip. these vaccines are precious. you don't want to waste a single dose, and they onto last five days out of a freezer and in one of these coolers or in a refrigerator so the rural clinics have to come and get the exact dose they

have worked out the big issues the devil is always in the details and that's what they're working on, trying to complete these are the relief programs that would extend unemployment, small business loans, a lot of these programs, rental and food assistance programs that many are running out right after christmas. lawmakers are now scrambling to prevent that from happening. >> so from the information of all senators, we're going to stay right here, right here, until we're finished, even if that means working through the weekend, which is highly likely. >> while many if not all of the difficult topics are behind us, a few final issues must be hammered out we're very close to an agreement, but the details really matter. >> reporter: some of those things they're working out, money for distribution from the vaccines mr. pence and the surgeon general plan to get their

>> reporter: u.s. security officials are just beginning to uncover how widespread the intrusion is, that it targeted the homeland security department and may have hit the pentagon. american intelligence says there's little doubt there was spying by the russians at a massive level. u.s. security says it poses a grave risk to the u.s. government and private sector and says moving the infected computer code will be highly challenging. it went undetected for nine months >> in terms of data -- and we believe russian intelligence was behind it -- we believe it was the most consequential just in terms of the scope and breadth of potential victims.

leading the news, a former unemployment agency employment faked being dianne feinstein to collect benefits she posed as the senator and claimed $21,000. according to ap, bank of america flagged the claim for possible fraud. when they dug deeper, they found gervais had allegedly filed dozens of other claims of more than $200,000. she faces fraud charges. the origins of the coronavirus are still unknown to us, but there's a group of international scientists who will soon be headed to china to hopefully solve the mystery of just where it came from. here's nbc's keir simmons. >> reporter: within weeks these ten international scientists will travel to china to investigate the origins of the coronavirus, but nbc news
