that's still well below where the bay area is now, which is again is suddenly at 23%. it's not clear why the two areas are being treated differently but state officials do use a complicated formula. california added nearly 23,000 cases since friday night. sadly nearly 600 californians lost their battle with covid in that same time period. this comes as the entire country surpasses 25 million cases. san francisco's mass vaccination site is boasting about 500 first doses of the moderna vaccine were given out each day. people aren't yet getting their appointment for the second dose.

plan, president biden does hope for bipartisan agreement but how likely is that? democrats and republicans are so divided and that could even date back to before the trump administration. >> right. i think it really depends on -- here's the most effective argument the democrats and president biden can make to get senate republicans or at least of dozen of them to work with them. if they can't figure out how to get a covid relief bill done with ten to 12 senate republicans, they have to know the democrats are more than willing to go it alone. and if you can't get this done, they're going to keep going it alone and then you're going to be dealt out of this and the filibuster is going to be gone. and then you're going to have no role in this whatsoever. you know, i think there are a dozen senate republicans who don't want to risk not being at the table and i think democrats feel like they have just enough leverage with the filibuster threat or using budget

7:19 am
let's look at the timing. we have our mobil doppler radar. we're the only ones that have it in the area. you can download the app and it tracks the rain as it's approaching your location and it alerlts you. let's talk about your afternoon daytime highs, only top be out in the 40s, santa rosa 49 but in addition to the rain, the cold front is expected to kick up gusty conditions, especially around the coastline. let me guide you through the timing of the storm. right around noon, the north will see it. by 2:00, palo alto, oakland starting to get rain. push the timeline forward, we get pockets pushing through the south. the yellow and orange indicate heavier pockets. rainfall will be light to moderate, a 10th of an inch.
7:20 am
in addition to it being cold and rainy, there will be gusty conditions, gusting upwards of 40-plus miles per hour, which is why the national weather service has issued a wind advisory that goes into effect starting at 7 p.m. tonight and remains in effect until 10 anywhere betwee0 miles per hour. the strongest gusts will be near the coast so we're talking about the coastline in general and san francisco. with the temperatures only being in the 50s, you'll feel the wind chill effect until the evening hours. look at 8:00. san francisco 46 miles per hour. definitely expect to see the windy conditions all into the jove night hours and into monday as well, which is why that stays in place at least through monday. it isn't until monday night when we start to see those winds
