depend upon the vaccine supply in the state. >> everyone has to be patient, and also to keep try, because there are avenues that keep opening up. we now have a lot of retail pharmacies that have vaccines. >> now, if you want to book one of the appointments this is how you do it, type "vaccine appointments" and then you will have a link that says book an appointment, and then you select where you would like to book your vaccine appointment, and it will tell you whether there are appointments available, and i tried this morning because i live in santa clara, and there were none. now, we encourage you in all of the counties to get the vaccine, and the state is expecting 90% fewer johnson & johnson vaccines next week, because johnson &

johnson experienced quality control issues with tens of millions of vaccines at one of the plants. this week, the state was expecting 575,000 of those single-dose doses, and next week it is only 75,000. so next week it is increasing the doses of moderna and pfizer, so you must schedule second-dose appointments. so if you have not gotten the first shot, you may not be able to book an appointment for weeks. people are waking up this morning under strict red tier restrictions. and the county is continuing to impact businesses that were hoping to open the doors to more customers. why is that county lagging behind? cheryl hurd is looking into that. >> reporter: tony la forte says

focus on our business. >> reporter: so why is solano county the last one in red? health officials say that the covid rates are very close to move into the orange tier, but not close enough. another problem here, young people are gathering, and there remains a challenge to get enough vaccines. >> and being pushed by the age of 18 to 49-year-olds, and tht is that we have not been able to get enough vaccines in solano county. >> reporter: and another reason that the county is in the red tier is because it is sitting between the greater bay area and sacramento, meaning a lot of people coming in and out of the county on a daily basis. health officials here are optimistic tonight. they say that solano county could make it into the orange tier in a cup of weeks. cheryl hurd, nbc bay area news. new details in the cities of

a very good now thursday morning to you. taking a peak outside this morning before the sun's arrival overlooking san francisco. a cool start to the morning. kari has a look at the forecast for the rest of the day and we have a spring-like afternoon, kari. >> yes, and it has been nice to get that breeze picking up yesterday, and some spots did get pretty gusty later in the

day, but we will see the winds calming down a little bit today as you are ready to head out of the door, and you might have to crank the heater in the car as we get a look at the tri valley forecast with some temperatures in the mid-40s, and then going into the low 50s as we are going into the next couple of hours. in fact, let's look at all of the microclimate and the temperatures going hour by hour. here we are at noon, and it is 64 degrees in napa and so outdoor weather for lunchtime today, and redwood city at 60, and 62 in livermore and then going into the rest of today, it is going to be bright and sunny as we make it into the low 70s in antioch, and we will see it as well in santa rosa, and san francisco at 61 degrees for the high. and we will see the upper 60s for the south bay and feeling nice out there, and more of the same weather for tonight heading into the day tomorrow, and we will put the weather pattern on

repeat, because the high pressure is out there, and keeping any rain away, and also keeping the weather fairly dry. as we go into next week, there is a low dropping in from the north and with low pressure and high pressure nearby, it is going to cause the winds to pick up, but it may also bring in some slightly cooler temperatures after a warmup. this is the trend, up and back down. we have upper 60s today as well as tomorrow, and low to mid-70s for the weekend and upper 70s by next monday and tuesday. you can see that there is no chance for rain in the forecast. so at times, just looking for the increasing winds, unshine and some mild weather in the forecast for at least next week. heading over to you, mike, how is that looking for the commute? well, it is looking pretty mild. and that is a good word as well. i will take you the golden gate bridge and this is on the san rafael camera, and then it cleared over the last ten minutes so south to lincoln, it

administration. by mid-january, 600 children whose parents had not been contact and that number is down by 100. now, lingering questions in that rollover crash that nearly killed tiger woods. now there are findings that had been released and it needed clearance from woods to do. so investigators say that excessive speed is to blame. he was going more than 80 miles per hour in a zone with 40-mile-an-hour limit, and hard turn at that location, too, and no signs that tiger woods hit the brakes. >> it is speculated and believed that tiger woods hit the accelerator instead of the brake pedal. >> some wonder why he was not checked for possible impairment, and the department said that there was no cause, because he showed no signs. others wondered if he was using phone. and they say it would not have changed anything about the cause
