"today in the bay's" third hour continues right now. >> you've made it to friday. hello, everyone. thanks for making us a part of your morning. i'm marcus washington. >> i'm kris sanchez in for laura garcia. fresh off the heels of his address to a joint session of congress, president biden is sitting down for an exclusive one on one with the "today" show's craig melvin to talk about the first 100 days in office. in a conversation largely

this comes as we've mentioned in part to an increase of supply and some people not coming to their scheduled appointments. starting in contra costa county, the pop-up clinic is located in richmond's iron triangle, that site they say they have enough to administer as many as 500 doses a day. the clinic is located in the parking lot of st. john missionary baptist church. so far they've seen a pretty low turnout. we were out there yesterday. one of our reporters only saw about 45 folks come through that day, and that site they're working to spread the word that they are in fact open and vaccinating. and if you live in the. peninsula a drive-through clinic does not require an appointment. the hope there, the convenience factor will lure people into getting a shot. that site is at the san mateo county event center. you need to live or work within san mateo county and when you arrive, you simply provide identification that shows your age. it is important to note that site is only offering moderna so this is just for adults 18 and

money it's making and the number of people joining. actually both numbers were really quite solid, just less than expected. twitter's financial reports covered the first three months of the year and for two of those months, donald trump was not tweeting. politics also involved in a new challenge for ride share, labor secretary marty walsh told a reporter during an interview with reuters he thought most so-called gig workers like uber and lyft drivers should be classified as full time employees. uber and lyft under pressure on the markets as well this morning. so that's what's going down. what's going up? practically everything else. we're hiring nearly 1 million people a month, i mentioned gdp, and man, are we buying a lot of stuff from amazon. amazon not only had its best quarter ever, it's got more than 1 million employees, 1.2 million it's going to give most of them a raise. the average american household
6:16 am
with a prime membership spends $3,000 a year on amazon. no doubt some of that money is coming from government checks. the biden administration handing out a lot of money, we're going to talk about how much as we talk politics, but while republicans are against it in washington, americans of every political party are happily cashing those checks and saving some, spending some, mostly on what economists call durable goods so that's a lot of what's driving those gdp numbers. as one columnist put it in the "new york times" this morning, americans are enjoying their new pelotons and the big green eggs, the big expensive backyard grills. apparently we are also enjoying chicken. to paraphrase the past president a chicken in every big green egg so much so there's a looming chicken shortage. seems like every fast food restaurant has a chicken sandwich. americans still eating chicken wings and slowdowns in processing plants because of coronavirus as well, you know that. chicken, the most popular meat

6:19 am
to the day. our seven-day forecast is coming up in the bottom of the screen as we talk about the drop-off forecast for school in san jose. we'll see some clouds this morning, and through the afternoon. it's going to be a little bit cooler, but at least we have a milder start, still jacket weather during the drop-off time at 51 degrees, and then we'll see a mix of sun and clouds, temperatures in the upper 60s as you pick them up from school and get ready for a great weekend. let's take a look at our high temperatures for today. napa will reach up to 74. you compare that to the 84 we will avery in clearlake and you're seeing on the map there's a wide range in temperatures here, because we have some cooling fog near the coast, half moon bay stays in the 50s. it will be clear in palo alto but still getting that breeze with some low 70s, and inland areas won't get much of that breeze so we're still looking at some mid 80s for antioch and some lower 80s for the south county, where that breeze doesn't really make it over the santa cruz mountains. so as we go through the forecast, high pressure still keeping it dry, storms rolling to the north of us, and they are
6:20 am
kicking up some winds, but just not bringing us any rain. going into next week, we may see just enough of a change in that pattern, after a big warmup to maybe see that high pressure moving out of the way, and we could see a little bit of that rain moving in by the end of next week, but we know up until that point it's going to be dry and our drought continues. looking at our seven-day forecast, our inland valleys in those spots like gilroy and livermore as well as santa rosa will reach into the upper 70s today. a little bit cooler tomorrow with some of the high winds picking up especially in the hills. going into next week, check out how warm it's going to be. we have some mid 80s for wednesday but at least it doesn't last long. san francisco will stay in the 60s over the next few days. the high temperatures there really don't change too much, going into the next seven days. mike, how is it looking heading to work this morning? >> a little bit better, kari. we had the two crashes south santa clara county coming out of san martin and morgan hill, was
