good morning. it's going to be another really nice day, still breezy. here is a live look outside in san jose. let's get you out the door. a cool start with low 50s and a beautiful day, a lot of sunshine, temperatures gradually warming up and it's going to be reaching into the upper 60s to low 70s, that's cooler than normal and we'll have more days like that, we'll talk about it coming up in a few minutes. mike, any problems right now for the morning commute? >> we have a crash in san jose, which i believe should have had a traffic break and clearing in the last couple of minutes. we don't see slowing on the sensors north 280 just as you get to the 87 interchange. i'll continue to follow that with chp and we know about this, we have your typical overnight closure for 84 through alva rah toe niles curvy section in and out of fremont. this should be slowing down about 6:15, highway 4, now you're at speed through concord and no backup at the bay bridge an easy drive through contra costa county. back to you. big breaking news a major

internet outage overnight that affected dozens of high traffic websites. service is being restored as we speak. >> "new york times," cnn, reddit, twitch were down for hours. san francisco based fastly is working to fix that problem. the company provides cloud computing service helping companies restore content and services around the world. scott mcgrew will bring you an update in 30 minutes. east bay mud leaders review plans to hike water rates next month calling for a 4% increase in the fiscal year and another 4% increase one year from now, the money goes to infrastructure, maintenance and operations, including improving drought preparations. new water worries in the south bay where everyone is likely to see mandatory water restrictions in just a matter of days. >> santa clara water valley district board are expected to their a water shortage emergency and consider a mandatory reduction in water use.

marianne favro is in san jose with a look at how much you may be asked to cut back on. >> this will get filled in to the border. >> reporter: peter sanchez, jr., is tearing out grass and putting drought tolerant plants in his san jose home, the move could pay out because he may soon be asked to reduce his water usage to just 15% of what he used back in 2019. on wednesday, the santa clara valley water district board is expected to declare a water shortage emergency and mandate cities and private water companies in santa clara county to cut back water use as much as 15%. >> it becomes so political, us neighbors, we're trying to keep our yard looking nice and you know, be able to take a decent shower. >> we want to be sure there's something left in the groundwater. >> reporter: vice chairperson says the reduction is needed because groundwater levels are low and after another very dry winter the sierra snowpack was

low. anderson reservoir is nearly empty to accommodate earthquake repairs. >> we're having trouble buying water on the open market because everyone else is buying it at the same time. so not only buying it, the price is ten times what it was two years ago but transferring it going to the regulatory process. the prices would force them to raise water rates.

san francisco, we're starting out clear, that view of the bay bridge and our temperatures today reaching into the upper 60s and low 70s. 65 today, the high in oakland, san jose reaching 69 degrees, all these temperatures cooler than normal and we'll have this for another few days, and then our temperatures will be warming up. so i'll show you that warmup coing up in a few minutes. mike, how is it looking for the commute? >> san jose looks like the traffic break should be over. 280 southbound at 87 no slowing shows up on our sensors no, sensors here because of the closure, we know it's been going on for about over a month, this is the fifth week now so 680 and mission, either direction will be your alternates to avoid that until just shy of 5:00 again if everything goes on schedule, which looks like it does. dublin interchange, castro valley y moving smoothly and chp said windy there, windy across most of our bridges as kari has

with oakland today reaching 65 and 69 in livermore, and along the coast still in the upper 50s at half moon bay, daly city reaching 60 and 60 in san francisco. we'll also see temperatures staying on the cool side, breezy winds, sunset up to 66 today and napa 70 degrees. as we go through the forecast a couple of storm systems pass to the north of us keeping us cool but also some rain very close by, unfortunately we're not going to see any of that. it does stay to the north of us but we'll keep our temperatures cool as we go into the next several days and possibly into at least friday, but then after that, our temperatures heading up again, and the winds will be kicking up just a few clouds once again to the north, but look at these highs reaching the low 70s for the inland areas and then up to the upper 70s by friday, into the weekend, some low 80s. san francisco also keeping it breezy, highs reaching into the

low 60s today and tomorrow, and 65 degrees on friday. not many changes here as we'll still see those 60s in the forecast, extending into the start of next week. so pretty quiet here, mike, how is it looking right now for traffic? >> kari, you put it nicely, breezy over there across the bridges. chp says a little more than breezy for us, so san mateo bridge, dumbarton bridge, benicia bridge, bay bridge all have wind advisories from them from overnight maybe gusty. no major problems, just a note for drivers and note highway 84 closed through alvarado niles but it on the peninsula side south 280 at 92 getting on the transition a disabled vehicle and update from chp says there may have been a quick traffic break and i believe they've gotten everything over to the right shoulder as you make that move san mateo, over toward the san mateo bridge, a smooth drive toward the bay bridge and the golden gate bridge slowing north thereof. there is a crew that should be clearing about now. live look shows you the bay bridge across the span, and

again despite the breezy conditions, chp hasn't gotten reports of any problems. back to you. >> thanks, mike. happening today in southern california the scheduled official charge to a couple now accused in that road rage death of a 6-year-old boy. authorities on sunday arrested marcus anthony eriz and wynne lee in their orange county home. a massive search following the death of aiden leos of orange county on the freeway. he was actually sitting in his car seat when investigators say that bullet pierced the truck his mother was driving striking him in the back. the boy died in his mother's arms on the side of the freeway. the suspects are held on a $1 million bail. this morning, there is no sign of a missing san francisco grandmother police are continuing their search for jean chang kan fung. she has been missing for a week. she disappeared out on a walk may 28th dressed in the same clothing she

was wearing including the pink puffy jacket she had on, last seen at the marina safeway. a federal judge is ordering mohammad nehr00undergo a mental evaluation. he was accused of pulling a knife on a fellow volunteer at a food bank to get a bag of chips. police arrested nuru but prosecuted dropped charges saying it appears he was joking. the federal judge is worried about nuru's state of mind and wants him evaluated. nuru is a central figure in a corruption and bribery case and out on $2 million bond for federal judges. a glimmer of hope for millions of alzheimer's patients and their families. >> the fda approved a new treatment that may slow the progression of the disease. jean elle has more on what it could mean for you and your

family. >> it's the first time we have a therapy that attacks the main process that drives cell loss and memory loss. >> reporter: ucsf assistant professor of neurology dr. julio rojas-martinez worked with patients in a clinical trial for the drug aducanumab, it attacks am lloyd protein allowing patients to get rid of it. >> it could provide a slower progression of symptoms over time. >> reporter: the drug is injected once a month. phil guttes has been taking it for five years. >> i'm not cured in any way, shape or form but i feel like i have more capacity, more mental capacity than i did four years ago. >> reporter: possible side effects include bleeding in the brain. the fda approved aducanumab even
