the site of the g7 summit. they'll meet with british prime minister boris johnson to reaffirm the special relationship between the u.s. and u.k. then begins the g7, covid recovery, global health care, trade, taxes, climate change he then will meet with the queen at windsor castle. this will be the 12th sitting u.s. president the queen has met with he then travels on to belgium where nato meetings begin including an expected private meeting with president erdogan he travels from there to geneva where that high stakes meeting with president vladimir putin is set to take place. topics could include ukraine, hacking, cyber attacks as well as arms and nuclear agreements a lot to happen over the next week for the president's first overseas trip. >> all things at the forefront of our concern over on this side

chapman, thank you. here at home president biden's domestic agenda is in jeopardy last night the president broke off negotiations both sides locked in a stalemate. nbc's tracie potts joins us. these talks have been on for weeks with not much to show for it. >> reporter: frances, nothing to show at this point a five-minute phone call and it was over between president biden and republican senator shelly moore capito who was heading up these negotiations for their party. both sides saying the other side is sticking to issues that they cannot deal with or cannot support. this now moves back to the senate for lawmakers to try to work out part of the issue was capito says the president wouldn't back off tax increases. >> the last offer that i got from the president had four tax increases in it. we were in it to win it for the american people. we've missed a real opportunity

here for at least 20 republicans to join with the other democrats to pass the most robust infrastructure package that we could have. >> it may well be that part of the bill that will pass will be bipartisan and part will be through reconciliation but we're not going to sacrifice the bigness and boldness in this bill we will pursue two paths and at some point they will join. >> the white house saying the latest republican offer from this group did not, in the president's view, meet the essential needs of the country saying they would not come up to the trillion dollar mark where he thinks the spending level for infrastructure for his jobs plan needs to be. this puts everything back to the senate where democrats say they're taking two approaches. as you heard senator schumer say there looking at the reconciliation process to do this on their own without republican votes and still hoping a bipartisan group will come up with a compromise.
