temperatures in 74 in san rafael, and 79 in hayward. san jose looking at a high of 83 degrees. the cooling trend continues for a little while. how are things looking out on the roads? >> we have had a couple crashes up through 880 as well. i did notice slowing, and it could be some overnight construction. i'll have another update in 20 minutes. oakland and piedmont unified school districts will vote on a possible vaccine mandate for children 12 and older.

>> people we spoke with agreed with the idea. >> oakland unified school board member, sam david, helped write the proposed policy that would help children 12 and above to get the mandate -- >> we would be the next city to require vaccinations 12 and up, and we don't have a lot of details in our resolution that l.a. has in there. >> on september 12th, l.a. unified became the largest district in the country to require students to be vaccinated. the rules down south are strict, there are no alternatives to the vaccination. this vaccine idea is spreading. in berkeley the district vaccine

near that. the numbers by region tell a different tale. bay area water usage dropped more than 8%, but in l.a., orange and san diego counties it was a combined .1%. firefighters are trying to save parts of national sequoia park, and now century-old cabins are in the line of fire. firefighters are wrapping the cabins in foil and creating defensive space to try and save them. the fire has burned more than 26,000 acres and is 0% contained. we want to take you for a live look outside our windows here. air quality is expected to improve after smoke from the south made it appear into the bay area. the south bay area could still
