court today. let's get things going. good morning. i am laura garcia. >> i am marcus washington. let's start our morning off with a look at traffic but first let's start with meteorologist, kari hall. >> we're tarting out with a look at more smoke come into the bay area as we have to deal with the air quality for today. although the south bay is looking at good air quality this afternoon. we are going to see moderate amounts of smoke coming in for the east bay and santa clara valley. our temperatures will be heating up. look at some of the numbers and where we are headed for today. was make your way inland, another hot day reaching back into the 90s. we'll talk more about a weekend cooldown. also our air quality forecast going into the weekend before you make plans. that's coming up in a few minutes. mike, how is it looking for commuters? >> we have slowing here north of

680 approaching 4. aside from the sensors that just showed slowing at 4:28 this morning, so maybe a tow truck and a little distraction, but other than that a smooth drive. west 80 heading toward the car canious bridge has cleared. we'll talk about san francisco coming up as well as the south bay, because there are things coming up later up this weekend. for now being things moving nicely on the freeways. included frontline medical workers, and anybody 18 to 64 that lives in a high exposure setting such as a prison or homeless shelter.

two anti-vaccination mandate marches. santa clara and san jose are requiring workers to get the vaccine. county employees have until thursday to submit exemption paperwork. meanwhile, tonight a march planned for in front of the police department. take a look at this map, a breakdown of an analysis done by the bay area news group. it shows the bay area with not a single county of 20 per 10,000 residents in the last ten days.

a palo alto woman stands accused of starting it all. thousands are still under evacuation orders right now. the fire has grown to 55,000 acres. we'll take a live look over walnut creek this morning. a air quality advisory has been issued for today. kari, how are things looking for us this morning? >> we are going to see more of the smoke coming from the fawn fire down into the bay area. we're looking at unhealthy air quality especially this afternoon. a lot of the smoke pushing off towards the east once it moves out of the north bay. much of the rest of the bay area won't have a big impact, but you will see how much smoke is moving across the region as the fawn fire continues to spread

. happy friday. it's 4:40. as you are heading out the door in the east bay, let's check out pittsburgh right now at 66 degrees. a mild start. we are headed towards warm temperatures today, we see the trend headed to the upper 70s this afternoon. more in a few minutes. we're looking at a good, close look at traffic and at business. >> wall street set to open lower. the dow soaring more than 500 points yesterday on continued belief that the fed is not going to remove the debt policy.

here we go, friday morning. the weekend is almost here. this time tomorrow, we'll all be sleeping in. >> this time tomorrow, i just pray i'm still asleep. >> yeah, that's true. we all kind of still wake up early. >> waking up to a nice forecast, hopefully, kari. >> yes, we are. what is going to help cool us off will be our blanket of fog that we are seeing over san francisco right now. so that is going to linger for a few more hours, and then start to clear out heading into today as our temperatures warm up. the big deal for us lately has been the air quality and how much smoke has been coming in. as we take a look at our near surface smoke model forecast, all of the reds and bright colors we see over the north bay, that's the fond fire, so

with this smoke definitely impacting the north bay, you might want to think about that with your weekend plans. much of the big billows of smoke pushing off towards the east as we get an ocean breeze picking up for the weekend. let's head to the south bay with a look at the temperatures for this afternoon. the 7-day forecast is already up at the bottom of the screen. we will see our temperatures in the south bay just a little cooler than yesterday, but still pretty warm. we're looking at summer-like temperatures today. oakland will head towards 76 degrees. we'll see upper 60s in daly city. for san francisco, with the early fog we are seeing some of the temperatures heading towards the low 60s. you head over downtown, more sunshine and highs in the low 70s. in the north bay, anywhere from the 60s and 70s near the coast

to 98 degrees for ukiah today. another warm afternoon. i think the early-morning hours is the best time. as we head towards next week, we will have a good cold front sweeping in and ahead of that we will see showers. as it moves closer to the bay area, the rain dries us but we get the cold air. as we look at some of the our inland spots like morgan hill reaching the low 90s today and then 80s for the weekend, and you can see the cooldown we'll see early next week where it will be nice and fall-like. we do have 90s today and 80s for tomorrow and sunday and for next week, highs in the 70s in our warmest inland spots while san francisco will see temperature in the 70s today but then 60s for the rest of the forecast. kari, we have a weird -- i

welcome to friday morning. it's almost 5:00. i am laura garcia. >> i am marcus washington. an air quality advisory has been issued for today and tomorrow. >> let's bring in meteorologist, kari hall. how are things shaping up, kari? >> i think it's mostly going to be the north bay we will have to watch for the air quality. looking at some of the forecast and the numbers for the air quality outlook, it's the same or lower than it was yesterday. we are still going to have drifts of smoke coming in and constantly changing. our temperatures will be hot today. we're headed towards the upper 80s and 90s. the north bay temperatures, 87 today in santa rosa. we'll talk more
