i am laura garcia. >> i am marcus washington. we'll get an update on traffic with mike, but first we'll look at the forecast can kari hall. >> as our temperatures continue to go down we'll have showers very close to the bay area. take a look at this system passing by. you can see the long line of clouds stretching into the north bay. we will get a couple rounds of cooler temperatures as a couple cold fronts move through. our air quality, still moderate. once again, this is going to continue to clear out as the cooler air moves in. we'll talk more about that coming up. kari, we have the bay bridge toll plaza, there were flashing

tracking when we could see rain moving into the bay area. >> it's drizzling in san francisco, and i think that's about all we will see with the low clouds rolling by. you can see the clouds that are kind of starting to lower over the city with the breezy winds. taking a look at the temperatures, we are going to head to the upper 50s to the low 60s at 3:00 in much of the inland area, we are looking at cooler temperatures. look at where we are in concord at 3:00 this afternoon. 73 in san jose. other 70s for some of the warmest spots inland. tomorrow night and tomorrow morning, mostly upper 50s. we'll continue to track the weather.

mike, you are tracking some actions? >> yeah, and -- oh, well, they are cleared. that's how fast they cleared. the deal is, i want you to notice there's no fog in this particular shot. there's fog up around the san francisco cameras. we will see fog across the santa cruz mountains, so be aware the fog is out there and creeping around. along silicon valley and the peninsula, no issues. there's a crash here on highway 13. still no details from chp. the travel times for that area, it's a longer drive for highway

let's make it a terrific tuesday out there. we take a live look at the san francisco skyline this morning. let's look at the forecast, too, this morning. >> why not? sounds great. >> cooler temperatures, which i like, kari. >> ready to break out the sweaters? >> yeah. let's go. >> i like that. we will have pushes of much cooler air, the first round moving in as we speak into parts of the north bay. you can see the cold front, and we are going to be in the 70s this morning and 80s in the afternoon. you open the windows in walnut creek as we reach about 80 later today. 74 in hayward. looking at half moon bay, the fog remaining. it's going to be in the mid-60s. redwood city, more sunshine and

76 degrees. for san francisco, we're staying in the upper 50s in the marina district. at the mission district, we are watching the game last night and they had the delay thing going on, that's now starting to clear out. we were also watching that because of the oil spill and them having to clean that up and the rain complicating that. it's clearing out there but we are seeing the rain also clearing out before it moves into the bay area for northern california, so there will be that chance they could see some of the rain to the north of us, but not so much here. looking at where we normally start to see our rain really coming in, well, for october, for santa rosa we will normally get about two inches of rain. and then for the rainy season, we are in the middle of that, and still looks dry. at least we are getting the cooler temperatures.

for livermore, going from 80 today to 72 t weekend. our inland temperatures are still going up and down, and that's what normally happens during the fall season. 80 degrees today. you can see the cooling trend by the end of the week. nice and mild weekend, keeping an eye on san francisco for the air show this weekend and we will see low 60s and more sunshine. mike, you were saying there was a possible truck fire? >> yeah, we heard about a garbage truck, which would be a bigger issue because it would have been a longer time to take care of that. around auto mall, we're just south of auto mall, and i thought i saw slowing but turns out everything is okay. here's the dumbarton bridge in thornton, and so far the speeds are okay as well. one report came into

smoothly on the upper deck, it's at speed. back to you. >> thanks, mike. governor newsom declared a state of emergency in southern california due to the oil spill. first responders will be back in that area today. >> 126,000 gallons of crude oil spilled along the oceanfront, along laguna and newport beaches. despite concerns about environmental disasters, they are feeling better at what they saw. the investigation remains to be ongoing. >> we know it was an older pipeline and over time corrosion could have been part of the reason for the leak. >> the oil company is now suggesting it could have been an anchor from a ship that damaged from the pipeline.

bay area bird rescue teams are saying time is of the essence. >> when they are collected and oiled, the first thing you notice is they are cold because the oil prevents them from being able to regulate, and as they are able to try to do that, they spend so much time trying to get the oil off them they may not be eating, and they may drift in towards the beach area. >> it's critical people stay off the beach, but not only because that's dangerous but the birds may see you as a predator and may try to get back in the water. and then san francisco giant's legend, what could be the top sports honor.
