we'll talk more about changes ahead. mike, chp still probably issuing that wind advisory? >> yeah, it's for drivers going across spots like the san mateo bridge. today the high-rise, of course, susceptible over the open water. a smooth drive despite that advisory there. and yesterday we did have the benicia bridge called out. >> thanks, mike. continuing our microclimate alert, this is in napa county, they were able to stop progress of a fast-moving vegetation fire that started yesterday on newell drive. that fire comes as the bay area under a red flag warning

prompting pg&e to do a planned shutoff for customers. >> reporter: strong winds fueling this brushfire in american canyon. an evacuation warning lifted for people living in its path. >> we are dealing with high winds. obviously that could increase the rate of spread of vegetation fires. >> when they arrived on scene, a car reported stolen out of vallejo was on fire. the 26-year-old man inside was detained. the cause of the brushfire is under investigation, but firefighters and deputies agree it comes at a bad time because of dangerous winds. those winds triggering a public safety power shutoff. >> we started contacting about 25,000 customers starting on saturday that they could be impacted.

elevations, and we have the high fire danger continuing this morning, and all of these areas in the red in the red flag warning, and it's been kicking up dust and that's decreasing our air quality, especially in the east bay. we have seen good air quality in the wind-sheltered valleys, like parts of the north bay but where we have seen the dust coming in from the central valley is the east bay. that's going to be one of the factors as well as we go into the afternoon. you will have to think about that, and also lower humidity. later on today compared to yesterday, take a look at the single digit relatively humidity digits in concord and even down to the south county. when we have low humidity, fires can spread quickly. it looks like we start to make a recovery here. so our temperatures today just

coming up a couple more degrees compared to yesterday but still nice and cool with low to mid-70s across the bay area. san francisco up to 65 in the mission district, and our north bay temperatures reaching 73 in santa rosa. go into tomorrow, another system drops in. this will calm the winds but will bring a brief shower for the morning hours. we're reach into the mid-80s in san jose, and then sunday it cools off and we will see more temperatures in the beginning to middle of next week. we will have a brief spike in temperatures friday, saturday and early on sunday and then looking at gusting winds today. san francisco will reach into the upper 60s but slightly cooler tomorrow with more clouds and then a warm-up in time for the weekend.
