paid leave. >> it will create an app. >> it will keep track of hours worked. >> technically under our laws each individual lawyer is responsible to pay sick leave to its worker, and most employers don't realize they have the obligation. >> and the app will keep track how much money an employer should put in the pot of money for sick leave. >> it's a priority which was made crystal clear to them because of the pandemic when overnight many of them lost all of their employment. >> if the ordinance is passed and signed by the mayor, it could go into effect sometime next year. cheryl hurd, "today in the bay."

the third biggest storm since 1950, and we saw just about everything. not just power outages, but downed trees that kept crews busy. we spoke to an east bay arborists that said he is booked solid to look at trees. a restaurant in north beach forced to close after part of a tree fell on the roof there. and some families are still cleaning up after they were evacuated from their flooded homes in santa rosa. this is video of people get into a raft in order to be pulled to safety. most of the evacuees are home this morning, however one apartment complex is still red tagged. it's almost like night and day. yesterday there was so much rain, and by the end of the day -- >> yeah, pretty skies.

perfect. >> yeah, kari. >> we are going to see a mix of it all today, because some spots in the bay area could see spotty showers. as we go into tomorrow, we will warm up and become more sunny. the rest of the week is looking good. we need a chance to breathe and clean up and let that water soak in. looking at our scattered showers in the forecast today, right here at noon it's mainly in the north bay and could spread down to the peninsula and could spread to other spots that could see afternoon showers, and overall it's the north bay that will be the focus today. we'll talk more about the timeline of this and the temperatures in the forecast that will remain cool today, and we'll talk more about that coming up in a few minutes. next on "today in the bay," the major retailer samsung is partnering with. and then the new changes facebook will make on all of its platforms to help serve young adults, as they say.

good tuesday morning. it's 4:46. we are waking up to drier conditions for most of us, but

we will still have a chance for rain today. one more system passing through northern california and may clip some of our northern counties. five times our normal amount of rain in santa rosa fell, reaching almost 11 inches there. of course a wrap up as we are going out in the backyard and seeing how soggy everything is and possibly cleaning up from all of the damage. livermore had over four inches of rain, and san francisco 7 inches of rain over the course of three days. mt. rose, 42 inches of snow. heavenly had about two feet. two feet at north star and kirkwood. unfortunately there's not a lot more snow in the forecast as we go toward the next week or so. maybe a light dusting. as far as our reservoirs, here's a look at how they measured up

before. the east bay mud reservoir had about 67% of capacity, and of course we have been doing really bad in our south bay reservoirs. looking at some of the numbers, now they have come up a little bit at east bay mud, and so all of that water gave us a little boost. now as we go into today we will see spotty light showers. temperatures reaching into the mid and upper 60s. this is much cooler than normal. only 63 in danville, and 65 in concord. half moon bay reaching 60 degrees. 66 today in palo alto and the outer sunset today reaching 60 degrees. mill valley up to 63 for a high but still upper 50s for ukiah and clearlake. this is where we have the best chance of rain. after the spotty showers today, we are in the clear for the rest of the week, and even go into halloween and our forecast for the weekend looks comfortable.

upper 60s for the weekend. there will be a system passing nearby. doesn't look like it brings us any rain. our temperatures will be holding steady in san francisco near the coast will low to mid-60s. mike, it's a very different view at the bay bridge. yeah, for a couple reasons. first of all, we can see the pavement and it's dry. that's great. also, we can see the lights. well lit at the bay bridge. yesterday the lights were out, and i don't know why but they were out across there towards the power. over here in concord we have an issue of highway 4 going east and passed willow patch road. the speed sensors show a smooth drive. this direction coming toward me out of pittsburg, that's the morning commute and it's still light and at speed.

a u.s. air travel ban is coming to an end but there still will be conditions in order to get into the country. the biden administration will require anybody come into the u.s. to be vaccinated or show proof of the negative covid test, and it's not just for foreigners but americans returning home as well. the happiest place on earth just got a little pricier from parking to the tier system.
