good morning on this wednesday. thank you for being part of your morning. i am marcus washington. >> i am kris sanchez. laura has the day off. we want to take a look at your commute who is in for vianey, but we will start with kari. >> it will be a bit warmer as we go into the afternoon. the weekend, i know there's a lot going on around the bay area, and the weather is looking pretty good. we are starting out with the 50s this morning and we will see the temperatures into the afternoon headed towards the lower 70s. it's going to be warmer than yesterday, reaching up to 73 in novato and santa rosa. upper 60s for hayward. san francisco also making it into the upper 60s today.

quiet weather for now but we will take a look ahead in a couple minutes. vianey has a look at the commute. >> i saw a couple fender benders overnight and those cleared out. this is the sort of overnight construction, but aside from that no major accidents. a quick look at how beautiful the bay bridge span looks. we'll have a closer look at drive times throughout the rest of the bay area coming up in a few minutes. back to you. >> thanks, vianey. a major step forward of vaccinating 28 million children in the u.s. after a fda panel okayed the pfizer vaccine for children 5 years old to 11. bay area health officials are already preparing for the rollout.

>> reporter: while bay area health officials are waiting for federal authorization, they are not waiting to plan the pediatric vaccine rollout. the adult booster clinic here at the south gate mall will be used for kids. >> we are already coordinating with the county to help participate in some of the larger vaccination days, and then when we get our bigger supplies start to do it as part of the normal office day. >> the pediatrician says she's hearing from parents. >> yes there, has been a lot of questions from both sides. >> the fda advisory panel is just the first step. the child-size pfizer dose is about one-third of what is given to adults. >> we fully anticipate we will see demand.

we also know initially these vaccines are going to be packaged differently and be a different color vile, and we will wait for those particular vials to come to us. that's important for safety. >> in an e-mail pfizer says we are expecting to get the first supplies for children the first week of children. we are confident we will be able to vaccinate all children ages 5 to 11 before the beginning of the year. >> we have 12 clinics already scheduled for the month of november, just in our schools and in our pharmacies and health care providers and pediatricians. other major health care providers also getting ready for vaccinating kids. stanford health care is waiting and waiting on the guidance from the cdc next week. as we mentioned, kaiser expects

signaling support for the howard terminal ball project. the oakland mayor and fans are celebrating, but there's still a lot to do. that yes vote means there's money to help pay for the infrastructure at that site. this will happen over a 45-year period. oakland mayor, libby schaaf, pointing out to the board that the revenue the county would give only exists if that project gets done. >> we're not asking you to be in the sports business, but asking you to be in the affordable housing and public parks business. >> the mayor tweeting after that vote, quote, tonight's support makes it clear that we're all

for the end of the week coming up. vianey, how is it looking for the commute? >> it's looking calm, and that's what we like to see. for now we have a couple slow spots in through san josé and highway 17. right here at campbell, we have slowing there. it's moderate. could be overnight construction. very typical. of course the roads are working to recover after quite the storm. east bay drive times, westbound 80 to the bay bridge, 13 minutes. westbound 580 to the bay bridge, 15 minutes. and 880 to the bay bridge, 13 minutes. i'll have a look at the rest of the bay area drive times coming up. more options for electric vehicle owners. next here on "today in the bay," we'll talk about major manufacturers promising to install charging stations across the country.

good wednesday morning. we're coming up on 4:47. it's a nice cool start this morning as you are stepping out in concord. parts of the east bay are looking at a drier drive as we go into the next several hours. our temperatures are going to hold steady. we are going to see a mix of sun and clouds and a slow rise in temperatures today. you notice it will be warmer this afternoon. look at the south bay highs as the 7-day forecast comes up at the bottom of the screen. san josé reaching 72 degrees. we will see a high of 74 in gilroy. a lot of these temperatures 5 to 7 degrees warmer. vallejo reaching 70 today. 71 in livermore. oakland reaching into the upper 60s. 67 in san mateo today. 67 in san francisco.

not as windy for the north bay. we are up to 70 degrees after staying in the 50s in ukiah yesterday. we are watching the reservoir levels rise. let me show you the numbers and what it looked like before all of the rain we had for east bay mud. it was at 67% capacity, but we were doing bad in the south bay. only 18% of the capacity, and guadalupe at 18%. we have seen a rise in the reservoir levels, and the most in the north bay with all of the rain, and it was 17% and now at half capacity. in the north bay, it's better than what we were seeing. it does look like we will take a break from the rain for the next several days, and then next week

we will see another chance of a pretty good amount of rain moving in starting on monday. as we go into the out look for the next two weeks, some of the highest chances of getting more measurable rain will be across northern california. that's looking pretty good. we will be watching that on monday. we have a chance to let all of the water soak in, and, boy, was it a lot. we will see temperatures reach into the 70s in the next few days. there will be a storm system passing to the north of us, and we will get the rain chances coming in with highs in the mid-60s, and san francisco, more of the same in terms of temperatures, but we will see a lot more sunshine throughout the weekend. vianey, you are watching the roads? so far, we're doing okay and the fender benders clearing up from overnight. near the bay bridge, i will look

really know one ino is above th. >> it's a really sad day for andrew hall, in my opinion. hopefully that goes without saying, this was unwarranted. >> this was the first time an officer has been charged in a shooting while on duty in contra costa county. a good samaritan was stabbed in san francisco after trying to help a woman being robbed on the street. this all started around noon yesterday in downtown san francisco on mission street. this is before spear and main. investigators don't know the motive but leaving the possibility of a hate crime. the person being robbed was an older asian woman. another woman stepped in to help and then chased that suspect. the apparently robber first punched her and then stabbed her. >> a guy said he saw her get punched, and why she was talking

rush. a major airline is ruling out facial recognition. passengers that sign up for the program will use biometric scanners instead of ids. they just need delta's mobile app. delta says they do not store any of the pictures. it's faster and more accurate than checking ids. they plan to use this technology at l.a.x. as well. tom costello will walk us through how the technology works on the "today" show. a 13-year-old being hailed a vaccine hero in the north bay. when he was in kindergarten, he became the face of mandatory childhood vaccinations during the 2015 measles outbreak.
