in dublin as well as fremont this morning. we will watch that as well as more rain ahead in our forecast. that's coming up in a few minutes. mike, you are seeing something going on, some of the rain on the roads that may be slowing people down? >> exactly. where they should slow down. wet roadways. it was actively raining on the lens a couple of minutes ago. wet roadways because that's where the rain is right now. south bay. we are watching for that. no major problems but a lot of smaller crashes, many of them single car crashes as can happen when cars will have problems with traction. it does move smoothly toward the bay bridge. the earlier incident on the low are deck has cleared. moving you forward this morning because covid vaccination for kids underway here in the bay area.

if you are looking to get an appointment for your child, it can be tricky. ian cole walks us through how to find an appointment and how to navigate some of the challenges. >> reporter: it feels like early 2021 all over again if you are searching for vaccine appointments. we ran into roadblocks. sites like walgreens didn't have any available or they did but we weren't clicking fast enough and those times disappeared. we tried the same on cvs. random stores would have one and then gone. on the santa clara county website, the fairgrounds, mountain view and east san jose were booked solid. there were plenty in morgan hill. bay area health officers say to check with your kid's doctor. this doctor's office posted availability and now 500 kids are signed up. the first ones getting vaccinated, these sisters. they are excited to celebrate again. >> they are excited. i think things that we have been

attorneys will sit down for a hearing in the civil suit tied to a bay area homicide. jurors in 2019 acquitted the real estate heiress tiffany green. his family is seeking damages tide to his death. the suspect in what authorities believe may have been a deadly love triangle shooting is due back in court. jessica and her brother marco did not enter a plea when they were arraigned on tuesday. she's accused of shooting a 19-year-old girl in a home early saturday. the brother is charged with accessory to murder. investigators say she was murdered at the home of an airman near the travis air force base. her body was discovered in a field near selena. dave chapell performs tonight at chase center. it tips off a ten-city tour. this is including the screening of his new documentary.

if it's raining, you want to stay in bed. it's not going to be like this all day. we are starting out with morning showers. it's going to quickly move through. as we look at storm ranger, we can see the north bay has cleared the rain as well as san francisco. as you move through the east bay, we are seeing more of the showers moving through. it's just enough to turn off the sprinklers or turn on windshield wipers. as we go into today, we will see clearing out by this afternoon. it's going to be a nice day. we will talk about the weekend in a few minutes. mike, a couple of notes about the bay bridge? >> we talked about a bridge on the lower deck. there may be activity. the lanes are clear coming out of san francisco heads toward treasure island. see the tunnel lit up there. what's not lit up is the lower deck coming out of san francisco. see car light but you don't see lights. the upper deck may have an issue. surface lighting may be an issue. the traffic flow is moving just fine despite the rain we saw with wet, slick roadways.

suspects. everybody knows about bertha. let's check in with her as well. i'm one of the usual suspects. thanks very much. wall street looks like it's going to open mixed this morning. the dow is pointing lower. the s&p and nasdaq higher. yesterday, all of the major averages closing again at record highs after the federal reserve announced it's going to start winding down its government bond buying program. that was expected. the part that the market really liked was that federal chair powell insists it's too early to think about raising interest rates. given inflation continues to run hot and there's still room for improvement in the job market. focus today in a little bit we will get the weekly unemployment filings. we will get data on the trade deficit and productivity. as well as earnings

good thursday morning to you. taking a live look outside over looking walnut creek, we're going to see some rain. dust off the umbrella. >> you'll need the windshield wipers this morning. if they've dried out, they're not really doing the work, it's a little too late for that, but you want to make sure you've got some new ones for all the rain we do have in the forecast. it's nice to see this coming through while most of us are sleeping. the rest of the day is looking really nice once this moves out.

we are seeing the rain just moving south of sunnyvale and milpitas. the trivalley it's moving toward livermore and discovery bay. it is moving through much of the region, parts of northern california into the central valley and the sierra with some rain. doesn't look like we're going to see much snow as it is a little too warm. we have this quick round of rain and then we take a break for a few days. we'll also be watching our next round of showers set to arrive on sunday early in the morning. we will be left with possibly some lingering showers for late morning, but the rest of the day is on a drying trend.

we'll see more sunshine later on this afternoon. as far as rain, most of us are getting about a tenth to a quarter inch of rain, but there is more on the way next week with another storm system coming in. at this point, it looks fairly weak and not a lot of rain, but it is nice to see we still have an active weather pattern going into the next few days as we've had a very nice start to our water rain. some spots are over 700% of normal. we'll see some sunshine and temperatures only reach into the 60s for this afternoon, but we are going to see some cool weather continue in our forecast into next week. we'll keep reminding you we'll have to set our clocks back one hour and monday we'll have some rain moving in. >> we had all lanes stopped for

a couple of seconds on the nimitz. looks like they had to move a vehicle from the center divider to the right shoulder. almost all of the nimitz is reopened but we still have one lane blocked and distraction m coming south across the coliseum. the upcoming bay area visit from perhaps the nation's most controversial health lawmaker scratched. marjorie taylor green was scheduled to appear friday for the san francisco gop. the plan included announcing the location last minute because san francisco was not an option due to green's vaccination status. the dinner is now off due to scheduling conflicts in
