hi, audrey. yes, it is just after 2:30 sunday afternoon here in beijing. it is the last day of the olympics and my last day here. my night, i leave for the airport in less than nine hours from now. closing ceremony, in just a few hours, and still a lot of competition on this last day. let's take you to the mountain cluster cross country the skiing scene on jesse digness from minnesota wins silver in the women's 30 chom ter, collapsing at the finish line with a time of 1 hour and 26 minutes. she is just incredible. also, winning bronze in the women's sprint early on during this games. it's her second olympics. she won gold in the team sprint in pyeongchang. also, today the last alpine event postponed from yesterday because of gusty winds, the debut of the team event featuring makayla shif richb. team usa, advancing to the bronze final but just short of the podium. six events at these games, no medals in any but very happy

with the finish today. >> it's just been incredible to compete today with you guys after a hong olympics, this is, um, my absolute favorite mediumry and i just want to thank you for that. over to the bobsled, bun last hoorah for four-time ohimian alana mires taylor. she is now the most decorated black athlete in winter olympics history with a total of five medals. she is also the oldest american woman to win a winter medal at 37. and she will end her olympic journey as the flagbearer of closing ceremonies. >> it is absolutely incredible. um, i had no idea what to expect coming into this race. me and sylvia haven't raced a lot together this year, so we just tried to go after it and see what would happen, and obviously something good happened. >> reporter: and on this final day, it is a tradition the figure skating exhibition gala you just watched it on primetime

invited figure skaters, including palo alto's vincent jo. he had a beautiful skate tonight. i admired him so much. he was in such a dark place testing positive for covid and having to quarantine and withdraw from the men's individual but came out full of hope. he did win silver in the team competition early on in the olympics, and he looks forward to competing in the world championships next month. >> and richmond's alyssa liu also performed tonight. the 16-year-old figure sedater, the youngest athlete on team usa at these games just made a fun routine to perform tonight. she placed highest for the american women in the ladies' individual in seventh. i cannot wait to see what she does next. she was so happy to be here, smiling from ear to ear from beginning to end. also making an appearance before the gala, the olympic mascot taking a spin one little bobble. but he has got padding. the chubby, little panda in the ice suit beloved by everyone here. so this is it. our last day. we have had so many memories. many favorites.

michelle, our director, i am asking to ask you to roll tape because we want to show you the highlights. my first athlete interview with our bay-area figure skater karen chen of fremont was a highlight. then, meeting the team usa figure skating team just after they won silver in the medal event. of course, checking out nathan chen's gold medal after he won the men's individual. and sitting down with speed skater erin jackson after her history-making gold medal in the 500 meter. my photographer's favorite moment? hanging out with snowboarder shaun white in the half pipe after his very last olympics. we have video of that. five-time olympian, three gold medals, and of course wrapping up olympics watching free skater david wise in the half pipe yesterday. he won silver after two back-to-back golds. my all-time favorite moment, of course, is hanging out with my photographer robbie. i want to bring you in, robbie. come in here, robbie. we never missed a covid test. never missed a live shot and i

heard explosions. firefighters were able to keep flames from spreading to the house next door, somehow. no one hurt. >> well, terry, tonight, san francisco's famous chinese new year parade was loud, packed, full of joy after covid concerns kept people away last year. take a look at this. thousands of people came from all over the state to see it in person. our own scott budman was along the parade route, and gives us a look. >> reporter: yeah, huge night here in san francisco for the chinese new year parade. people tell us the best thing is that they can get outside and take it all in. it got loud in san francisco. with lots of dancers, lots of lions, and big crowds lining the streets able to, once again, enjoy the city's famed-chinese new year parade in person, and celebrate the resiliency of the local aapi community that is endured a pandemic and rise in hate crime. >> it's great to see all the communities in san francisco

again. little cooler, not as many 730s like we enjoyed today. now,by got more clouds for sunday. these will not bring us the showers. those will be arriving as we head into monday night knight and tuesday as this air mass that settles in will be very cold. we are talking snow levels possibly below 3,000 feet during the day on tuesday. so the one weather day that looks pretty wild around the bay area, though the rain totals won't be big, will be the scattered showers. if you look closely here, by tuesday afternoon, you really start to see the snow possibly coming down on higher peaks of the north bay, diablo range, and even the santa cruz mountains do get some of that before the showers start to decrease as we get into tuesday night. so watch how much colder the temperatures are as we get into tuesday afternoon. these are highs. low 50s. that means, most of the day, we are going to be in the 40s with those cold, windy conditions, winter making a big comeback for tuesday afternoon. and watch the lasting effect of that cold air. morning temperatures, wednesday,
