7:49 am
is important to my family, and so the stats. 1 in 27 boys are affected by autism, and 1 in 116 girls are impacted. this is what the parents need to know. kids can show signs up to 18 month, and up to 40% are nonverbal, and 40% have gastrointestinal problems and for many families, this is going to take a toll financially, because the lost wages and services is about 15,000 per year. my son 10 and my daughter is 5, and that is her playing with food, because she is not eating right now, and she has a severe food aversion. and my son is playing with her, and that is a magic fan, and that is bella working with the two therapists there which is important to get the early intervention. it has been a journey for our family, and once again, you can see the feeding tube in some of
7:50 am
the pictures as she went through the severe food aversion, and we found out that it is because of the problems with acid reflux, and it is causing a lot of pain in her esophagus, and she was not able to eat, and now that we are getting that under control, and working with her to get back to eating eventually. i wanted to share some tips with families and for parents. watch out for little or no eye contact in the toddlers, and maybe you talk to them, and see them looking around the room. by two years, they should have few words or at least start to speak a lot of sentences. by 2 years, if you are noticing that they don't have any words at that point, that may also be a sign to watch out for. maybe you call his or her name and get no response or notice that they are rocking or spinning or flapping their hands which is a telltale signs. they may be sensitive to smells, sounds or sensitive to touch or have a problem to wear the
7:51 am
clothing because of the tags, and overreactive to loud sounds, because they are hypersensitive and it is like sensory overload for them. and repeated rituals or things that they may do or playing inappropriately with the toys or doing things repetitively. and things to look at, and talk to the pediatrician, and get the services lined up, because early prevention is the best tool in autism to help to cope in that world, and give them some help. >> that is important news there. and now we have breaking news to bring you of a shooting that happened in broad daylight. it happened in the bay view district, and when the officers responded they found a 20-year-old man who had been shot. and the police just told us that the man died. a second victim a 29-year-old man was treated at the hospital

7:57 am
buildings and dead bodies, and warning ukrainians to be careful. the red cross tried to deliver humanitarian aid and evacuate people, but they say that their efforts failed. right now, ukrainian have regained some ground back to the airport in kharkiv and taken back some places back to kyiv. it is going to be nice today? >> yes, it is going to be feeling like spring, and notice on the icon of sunday, it is going to be windy, and you will see the breeze today, but tomorrow, gusty conditions the especially around san francisco and initially around noon, and the winds will pick up around the evening and throughout the bay area, and around some of the
7:58 am
higher elevation, and the gusts at 40-plus, an monday and tuesday goes, notice the 60s and we jump into the 70s. on wednesday and thursday, and upper thursday, and this is the san francisco forecast and things will be warmer, and if you are wondering about the inland areas, you will go to up to 90 potentially on the forecast, right? crazy. and so, a little wind to the system could bring the chance of some morning drizzle and then thing quickly warm up, and evenb the overnight lows with 57 degrees there. >> not that low. >> prepare for heat and we will bump up 10, 15 degrees and even more. >> and you always know if it is 70s in san francisco, it is going to be really hot everywhere else. thank you, vianey, and thank you for making us a part of your morning. we will have more local news for you at 5:00, 6:00 and 11:00. and you will be back with the
