him in the face, and one of the suspects pulled out a can of pepper spray and sprayed him. >> reporter: then they saw the kids 17, 2, and 7-months-old and all three women from sacramento. >> we spent seven hours taking care of the kids before we could get a family member to come take care of the kids. >> reporter: it is a rash of incidents where there has been a carjacking, and then in january two women were robbed of their purses while sitting outside of the tru food kitchen. >> we come at day and not in the evening. >> reporter: that is why these sisters come in the day and come together. >> we have heard that there is a rash of problems at the shopping center, so we don't wear

rosa, and it is going to be warm for a lot of inland areas tomorrow, but look at how much cooler it is going to be in san francisco. there is going to be a little bit of the ocean breeze carrying some of the temperatures over in san mateo, and oakland to the mid-70s and upper 80s for fairfield, and submit to the upper 80s in south county. tomorrow, much nicer, and upper 60s in san francisco, and mid-60s in dublin and concord. the high pressure causing the extreme heat is going to be moving quickly off to the east, and we have big changes coming next week. we will see the first cold front sweeping through to bring a chance of scattered showers, and then a bigger storm may be coming right behind it thursday and again friday. so there may be three storms in the forecast next week. let me show you what the rain models are showing from a tenth

smooth flow of traffic, and no drama, and the peninsula of the south bay, and out of the altamont pass, and over here, no drama, or callouts for the bridges, and not for chp. sometimes they will call it out for the wind. things are calm for the golden gate, and moving the center divide in a minute, and closing over the three routes, and this is usually the lowest driving time, and the shortest from pittsburgh to walnut creek. right now, you can see the surface street has the shortest, and then as the morning goes on, you will see them pack in, and it will start to take effect. well, those drivers need gas, and this morning the gas prices are start to drop ever so slicely in the country, and the bay area. and this is come as the biden administration is releasing 1 million barrels per day for the

next six months from the strategic petroleum reserve. i spoke with alex at gas buddy to see if in the big picture this is a drop in the bucket. >> well, it is something. it acts as a ceiling rather than lowing the price, and that is if the russia and ukraine situation could overpower the release or the release itself which is contingent on a number of unknown factor, and one of them being whether the eu is going to sanction the russian energy, and whether the eu can receive 4.5 million barrels of crude a day. so there is a number of factors here, but it does put pressure on the downward prices. >> and now, people are thinking of the pandemic, and traveling here, but they have to look at

the bottom line. >> without a doubt, but they are going down, but elevated. california is looking to avoid the $6 mark now, and the prices have been going down from 5 to 25 cents and maybe potential over the coming weeks, and maybe better than that, and so the expenses are come down, but they remain high. >> and the thing is that are proposing a massive gas tax on the new producers as well, and what could that mean for us? >> well, the politicians have to remember that there is an implication of whatever taxes they are proposing. so it sends the wrong message, and the counter message that the oil companies have less incentive to produce the oil.

and so the economyk and all other issues to raise oil production in many ways. well, for people who want to travel with spring break and preparing as well, the new guidelines for covid, and what parents can expect when they return from spring break. according to "the wall street journal" federal securities regulators are looking at how they use the third party seller data and how they use the chuncations, and that from regulators, and probes and using data from the sellers on the platform. amazon refused to comment on the investigation. we'll be right back.

4:54 and moving you forward as the state is updating the covid guidelines for the k-12 kids. the kids no longer have to quarantine if they do not have covid symptoms whether or not they are vaccinated. this is getting ready for the spring break season. >> reporter: it is looking like recess before the pandemic hit, but now there is more evidence that is concerning the covid in schools is waning. these students and teachers will no longer have to quarantine after a covid exposure as long assymptoms. as a parent, you are worried that the kid will bring it home.

>> reporter: the unified school district has been doing for it months now, and for student who were vaccinated and have been on campus, and they have not seen a surge, so they don't expect it to change in the guidelines. >> one benefit is that the people who are not sick, and did not develop covid were not excluded from school. >> reporter: those who were not vaccinated have been instructed to be tested before returning to school. >> if they need to be tested before returning from spring break, they can get a test. >> reporter: the california department of public health is trying to treat covid as other illnesses, and the health experts say that with it leveling off, you need to be careful. >> we are in the coasting phase
