these missile strikes herein lviv and kyiv and other cities across the center and west of ukraine are a reminder the russians are capable of striking everywhere and will do so to try to disrupt the flow of arms going to the east. >> i want to talk about mariupol as well. what do we know about the ukrainian forces still holding on there to that battered city >> reporter: still holding on. the russians have issued yet another deadline for them to surrender. it's in a couple hours time. but if what's happened in the last week is anything to judge by we expect that deadline to come and go without that white flag being raised over that steel plant. the commander says his forces are outnumbered 10 to 1. he said there are hundreds of civilians sheltering with him. he said they won't surrender but they are pleading for an extraction to a third contray.
