are environment unknown. >> reporter: but national uber and lyft are dropping the mask >> i might still wear mine but if the passengers don't want to wear it i'm okay wit. >> reporter: but the patch work of changing rules is still causing confusion in some places in philadelphia, for example, you can fly on a plane unmasked but in the airport terminal, mask goes back on. subway or uber, mask can come off. but go grab dinner or do some shopping in the city, mask up again. a judge struck down the federal mandate ruling it competed the cdc's authority. the white house covid response coordinator dr. ashish jha tweeting -- asked for 15 days to make a decision. should have given it to them concern about the immunocompromised and children under 5 who aren't yet vaccinated >> is this the type of precedence that we want to set that the cdc can be undermined by a federal judge in florida?

is that the type of precedence here i think that is terrible precedence >> speaking of legal precedence, in order for anything to change, the justice department would have to appeal the ruling against the mask mandate and the justice department is still up in the air about that. >> reporter: justices it mate appeal if the cdc wants to pursue the mask mandate. cdc so far isn't talking justice would likely not request a stay because the cat is out of the bag. people do not want to start masking up again and the thinking the this is political liability for white house and president. but they are concerned about precedent. if the cdc is not allowed to enact health measures in the event of another pandemic, that is something they feel they have

thank you. a wild fire forcing people to evacuate homes this morning the so called tunnel fire north of flagstaff is being fueled by high winds and dry conditions there. it has quick grown to more than 6,000 acres and is at 0 percent containment. the fire already destroyed a least two dozen structures and threatening hundreds of more. the unsettling trio of deaths within the u.s. navy. three sailors assigned to the same aircraft carrier each found dead within a week according to navy officials stephanie gosk with the latest good morning >> good morning. there is still quite a bit of mystery surrounding this story the causes of the three deaths are unknown. all three sailors worked on the same ship. the u.s.s. george washington aircraft carrier in virginia the u.s. navy this morning is searching for answers after three sailors that served on the same aircraft carrier in

virginia were found dead in separate incidents within a week >> i think we need to give them time to properly investigate these deaths >> reporter: according to the navy on friday the ship's crew found a sailor unresponsive on board the u.s.s. george washington currently docked as it undergoes an overhaul that unidentified sailor was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead. the incident follows the deaths of two ore sailors whose bodies were discovered in different locations off base just a day apart. retail services specialist died on april 9th, and interior communications electrician natasha huffman was found dead on april 10th authorities said. >> obviously they are still investigating these deaths i don't believe they are aware of any indications that they are related. but that's what they believe right now. >> reporter: the navy told nbc news in a statement they are cooperating with local

>> good morning, welcome back good to see both of you. good morning to you as well. the ongoing battle between disney and the state of florida continues to escalate this morning. governor ron desantis announcing new legislation that could end disney's special self governing status that's been in place more than half a century now. kerry sanders is following this story from florida good morning to you. >> reporter: good morning. disney is the largest single site employer in the state of florida drawing millions of tourists and responsible for billions of dollars in revenue for the state. but behind the scenes, disney operates for a long time now with its own form of self-governance. well this morning, governor ron desantis wants to undo that. but critics say this is really about political payback. because disney has so publicly opposed what critics call florida's "don't say gay" law.

good morning. it's 7:26. i'm kris sanchez. we are following breaking news this morning out of colma where police are investigating a shooting near holy cross catholic cemetery. one man was found with injuries at the scene. he was not shot, however. officers say two other victims with gunshots wounds went to a nearby hospital. police are seeking a motive and suspect at this hour. investigators say there is no threat to the community. also, we have an update on the shooting at the peruvian embassy in washington, d.c. we just learned that secret

empowered by the games all supportic each other there was one woman who came up to me yesterday and she said something that totally struck me in my soul she said the invictus games saved my life. how does that land for grow? >> it feels amazing. but every single games i that go to i hear the same thing from so many of them and that, it feels amazing we managed to play a part in the recovery but also makes me incredibly sad that's how dark it was for them. >> reporter: when you put that heavy backpack down. when you finally put it down do you feel yourself like peaceful at peace >> i think everyone ends up feeling lighter, i think is the best way to describe it. for so many people it is about management you know the things that trigger you. therefore you try and stay away

from that. but what i do know is that there is a light at the end of the tunnel for absolutely everybody. >> reporter: only thing i want in my life is to feel like peaceful you have lived in the united states for two years do you feel peaceful now >> i don't know how many people feel truly peaceful, you know? i feel -- at times i feel massively at peace but with everything that is going to be in the world and trying to help and trying to use the platform and inference to try and steer people to try to help again, like i think like the biggest concern or the biggest issue people wrestle with on daily basis that does provide more anxiety for me and for them is the helplessness. we as human beings are compassionate people but when your life becomes really hard, it can be for some harder to find the compassion for other people but what i've learned over the years is for myself, i find healing in helping others.

and i think that what's we should be focus on. >> reporter: i feel like life happens on a random wednesday. like here is an example. some say oh my god i'm going to go on a vacation, my life is going to be great. and it is like exclamation points the vacation, the graduation, the marriage, the baby those are all up here. the other exclamation marks are down here. sad things that happen loss, divorce. whatever most of life is wednesday. it doesn't have the highs. and it doesn't have the lows it is just wednesday what is a wednesday like for you? >> wednesday like, it revolves around the kids as much as humanly possible this whole working from home stuff is not all it's cracked up to be. certainly postcovid. because it is really hard when your kids and you are in the same place it is really hard to separate the work from them because they kind of overlap archie spends more time interrupting our zoom calls than anybody else. >> does he have your personality. >> -- off them as well. >> reporter: is he kind of like you? got a little bit of your cheeky thing.

the things you do? >> yeah, i think so. i always try to keep that. the cheekiness i something that keeps you alive there is so much to be happy about in the outside world but there is also so much to worry about. my sort of mantra now every day is a dangerous one because i need to make sure i don't have burn out is trying to make sure i make a world a better place for my kids. otherwise what is the point. responsibility i feel as a parent you probably feel as well and we can't fix everything. we know that but what we can do is be there for each other. >> you obviously made lot of news recently. you came to the uk you saw your grandmother how was that >> it was great. it was really nice to see her. to be able to see her in some element of privacy was nice. and had a chance to go back the uk for couple years apart from those two times. one for my grandfather's funeral and one for unveiling statue of my mom. >> how did it feel being with her?

>> being with her? it was great it was just so nice to see here. she's on great form. always got a great sense of humor with me and make sure she's protected and. >> reporter: you make her laugh. that's what she always says. did you do it again. >> it was really nice to catch up with her and, you know, home for me now is, you know, for the time being, it's in the states and it feels that way as well. >> does it. >> yeah. we've been welcomed with open arms and we've got such a great community up in santa barbara. >> reporter: so you feel like that's home for for you. >> yeah. >> reporter: is that weird to say? >> no but i'm sure it will become a thing. >> reporter: your grandma is going to be 96 what is the best thing about her. >> her sense of humor and ability to see the humor in so many different things. with have a really special relationship we talk about things she can't talk about with anybody else so that is always a nice piece to her. but i think she's -- i think after so many you get bored of

birthdays. >> you think she's bored of her 96th she won't be bored of the jubilee, will she? >> no. i don't think so she's had a few now and every one is slightly different. >> reporter: do you think you will come. >> i don't know yet. lots of things yet security issues and everything else this is what i'm trying to do. trying to make it possible that i can get my kids to meet her. >> reporter: march marked two years since harry stepped back as a senior royal. your family at home. do you miss them >> yes i think especially over the last two years, for most people, have they not missed their family, ability to even get home and see them of course. that's -- you know, that's a huge part of it. >> reporter: do you miss your brother, your dad? >> for me at the moment i'm here focused on these guys. and these families and giving everything that i can. 120% to them to make sure they have the experience of a lifetime that's my focus here and when i leave here, i get

back and my focus is on my family who i miss massively. >> you do. i bet. >> two little people. >> i was thinking about a new life like you have got a whole restart. you have a whole new focus, a whole new nucleus. how does that land with you? >> i think the focus is very much the same. >> is it >> certainly from my wife's point of view to the two of us. this is a life she signed off for and we were committed doing together as a couple forever because of the circumstances, we've now moved that life of service to the states and we'll continue doing what we were doing before so in that regard nothing's changed for us it is just a little bit more complicated to have to sort of restart. >> sure. what do you love about fatherhood >> what do i love about -- all of it. the chaos, the learning. the reminder of just every

element of yourself, your soul when you are not a parent you can get into all sort of different stuff and maybe sometimes forget who you are and suddenly as a parent and archie, at the age he's at, asking you all the questions. why this, why that, why tesla and instead of just trying to move it on, i give him the most honest answer i can. and then it goes on and on and on until he's satisfied. and then that's it it's done. otherwise it ends up because the world is round and that's is it way life is. >> that's just the way it goes >> so it's like, i love it i love every part of it. i've always wanted to be a dad i've always wanted my own kids and now i have two little people who i'm responsible for. >> do you tell them or tell archie about your mom. >> yes yeah yeah. very much so i tell him all the stuff that happened but certainly that this is, you know, grandma diana and got a couple of photos up in the house. >> reporter: in these moments do you ever feel your mom's

presence. >> yeah, no, for me it is constant has been over the last two years. more so than ever before and it is almost as though she's done her bit with my brother and now she's very much like helping me got him set up and now she's helping me set up. that's what it feels like. he's got his kids. i've got my kids you know the circumstances are obviously different. but now, i feel her presence in almost everything that i do now. but definitely more so in the last two years than ever before. without question so she's watching over house. >> sure she's proud of you. >> i'm sure she is. >> reporter: prince harry caraying on his mother's commitment to make the world a better place as he honors those who triumph. >> -- and his family just flourish in moments like this, means everything but the very simple thing, which is the power of sport.
