6:15 am
happen but not entirely convinced musk is going to win the day. musk bullied bill gates online over the weekend using a crude term in a tweet and making fun of the 66-year-old's body. gates has given billions to charity to fight malaria, find a cure for alzheimer's, and deliver clean water to africa. wall street reacted just as we said it would, after the head of the fed jay powell indicated upcoming interest rate hikes would be bigger than past rates. the fed's trying to fight inflation. the dow on friday falling nearly a thousand points. barring an emergency rate hike, we should see the next increase in may. marcus and laura, look at this. you probably know drones have the technology to follow you, so you can go stand-up paddleboarding or mountain biking and launch a drone and it will lock onto you and follow you around. if you can follow stand-up

degrees. san francisco will reach into the mid-60s. also a see a high of 66 in san mateo, los gatos today reaching 77. notice there will be a little bit cooler tomorrow. we start out with some clouds, a dry cold front moving through and it's going to kick up high winds and we'll see temperatures come down a couple of degrees in some spots but still pretty comfortable with some low 70s for morgan hill, and by wednesday, we're looking at a high of about 77 degrees in fairfield. this is a cold front that's going to be coming through, so we can see it, the long line of clouds, even a little bit of rain. unfortunately that rain doesn't make it here to the bay area. we're just going to stay dry all week long, a couple of cold fronts sweeping through but the rain staying farther off towards the pacific northwest. you can see how much of an active weather pattern there is but it's not going to make it here into the bay area. our temperatures going up and down as palo alto will see highs in the low 70s today, but then
6:21 am
low 60s for the end of the week and we're back into the 70s for the weekend into early next week. overall our inland seven-day forecast shows that we're warm today, cooling down the next couple of days with high winds, and a mix of sun and clouds and the weekend is looking nice with some upper 70s. very much like the weekend we just had and it's going to be windy in san francisco, especially tomorrow, and continuing into thursday. mike, you're still seeing those traffic problems coming out of the north bay? >> kari, this is still an issue coming across the benicia bridge and it ripples over affecting the carquinez bridge as well, because folks jamming up hearing about the backup coming off the cor delia junction toward southbound 680, eastbound 780, both jamming up because the problem again is on the span, two lanes are blocked, two lanes are open, that's a slow drive out of the north bay. so the carquinez bridge if you take 780 over there, or just choose that route down westbound 80, you still slow down because more volume of traffic coming down in toward that portion of the bay. now there's an alternate for you
6:22 am
to avoid that carquinez bridge, the benicia bridge and the carquinez bridge but that adds along the drive for 780 and still takes you with the need to come back over on highway 4 if that is your chosen route. the rest of the bay, the bay bridge, highway 4, highway 37 moving smoothly. there's the backup coming out of oakland. back to you. >> thanks, mike. >> 6:32 this morning. a game day legal battle now playing out in the nation's highest court. up next, one football coach believes he lost his job over leading a prayer. the question justices are now tackling that may redefine the separation of church and state. and when "today in the bay's" mike inouye is not tracking that morning commute for you, oftentimes he's helping to honor the bay area's aapi community. this is the video as he emceed the this week and's nikei matsui festival in san jose. follow mike on facebook, twitter and instagram, and of course every morning right here on "today in the bay." we'll be right back.
