you can watch us on roku, amazon fire, apple tv, and online. first we start with a look at the forecast. mike has a look at the commute coming up in a bit. kari, how is it shaping up for us this week? >> it's starting out windy in some spots. we see that in parts of the tri-valley and the delta and going across the bridges. chp warning about the high winds this morning and cooler temperatures coming in as this cold front sweeps through. already by tomorrow, we're going to start to warm up and by wednesday we'll have the hottest day of the week. let's go through our temperatures for this afternoon, hitting 64 in san mateo. 66 in dublin. really nice and comfortable but yes it's windy throughout today and our temperatures coming down but you can already start to see the change that we'll see by tomorrow afternoon with some spots reaching into the low 80s. martinez reaching 81 degrees. we'll talk about how hot it gets midweek and what's ahead with a cooler weekend and when we may see some rain, coming up in a few minutes. mike, how is it on the roads?

>> looking windy. chp warned about the san mateo bridge like you talked about. look over on our maps, green sensors across the san mateo and the dumbarton bridge. to the right side top of the screen the yellow highlighting there, faint yellow is where there's windy conditions registering over there. that will be a factor for some folks headed into or out of discovery bay, byron, brentwood. vasco road moves at speed. altamont pass gusts out of there. to the north bay and bay bridge a smooth flow of traffic right now. we'll track the rest. back to you. >> thank you, mike. authorities have not yet identified a bicyclist who was struck and killed by a driver last night in san jose. it happened at capitol expressway and mclaughlin avenue. the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with police. this is the 29th traffic-related death in san jose this year. in all of last year there were

60, matching a 20-year high. about a mile away from there, police yesterday arrested a hit-and-run suspect accused in two separate crashes it happened at the scene of a second crash at capitol expressway and aborn road. the driver was speeding from the scene from the first crash moments before crashing for a second time. no one was injured in either accident. jill biden will travel to one of the borders of ukraine later this week, as house speaker nancy pelosi is getting a firsthand look at the damage in ukraine. russia's latest attacks are housing areas armed and munitions sent by the united states. as behalfian favro reports, speaker pelosi wants the world to know that america stands firmly with ukraine. >> reporter: a surprise show of support for ukraine, house speaker nancy pelosi leading a delegation to ukraine's capital, meeting with had the zelenskyy, the visit under wraps for

clear for your morning commute. let's see how business is going with silvana. >> good morning. i'm silvana henao from cnbc. wall street is set to open higher after a brutal month for april. the markets sinking on friday on continued worries about rising interest rates, inflation and underwhelming earnings from tech giants like amazon and apple. the dow dropping 939 points, bringing its total loss last week to 2.5%. the s&p 500 falling 3.6% on friday, its worse day since june 2020 and the nasdaq tumbling 4.2%, closing at its lowest level of the year. the dow and s&p are coming off their worst month since march of 2020 and the nasdaq the worst since the financial crisis in 2008, down more than 13%. stocks are still up roughly 80% from pandemic lows and focus for investors will get reports on

manufacturing and services, factory orders, productivity and topped off by the jobs report on friday and the fed kicks off a two-day meeting tomorrow, was it expected to hike interest rates on wednesday. equinox members in new york city will soon be able to pay for their workout with cryptocurrency. the luxury health club is expected to make the announcement later today, partnering with bitpay, a major bitcoin and crypto payment service. gyms have recovered from their pandemic slump. sales more than doubled in the first quarter. equinox has more than 300 locations across the country. no word whether the crypto payments will be expanded outside of new york. and crocs is teaming up with general mills and footlocker on breakfast cereal-themed shoes. they will sell for $45 to $70, they come with cereal themed

outside, 51 in hayward. it's 51 in concord. we're seeing some upper 40s and low 50s for the most part and then a few spots a little bit cooler, but this is where we're headed for today. you'll notice it's going to be cooler compared to what we had yesterday afternoon, we really enjoyed the nice warm weather, but it will come down several degrees as the cold front moves through, and then our temperatures in hayward head for 64. fairfield one of the warmer spots reaching 77. we'll be in the low 70s for morgan hill and san martin and 71 for santa rosa. for tomorrow, we see those temperatures starting to come up. we're up to 80 in santa rosa, napa, oakland reaching 75 and 77 in fremont, and then going into wednesday, san francisco reaching 78 degrees, but look at martinez 89, and 91 in fairfield and concord. morgan hill reaching 89 degrees. that's for the middle of the week, when our temperatures peak. today our winds are peaking and we're seeing san francisco with those wind gusts to 38 miles per

hour for the middle of the afternoon, still looks pretty windy in the north bay, even going into tonight as well as early tomorrow morning and that's where we have a wind advisory in effect. we could see gusts up to 45 and also for the marin and sonoma county coastline. the rain unfortunately gets very close but misses us, that's the reason why the winds are kicking up as it passes by. we'll see more storm systems moving by, a chance of rain on friday, but once again, it's possible it may stay to the north of the bay area. we'll watch out for more of that rain and snow for the sierra. now that we're getting into may, you look at how often do we get rain, we are entering into the drier months. this is that transition month. so we do still at times get a little bit of rain but after that, those chances of getting in on some wet weather really decreases. as we look at our seven-day forecast, we can see we have some low 40s for our inland

areas today and then low 80s tomorrow, and then mid to upper 80s on wednesday. thursday it starts to come back down much cooler for friday with that slight chance of rain and then windy and cool for the weekend, after that cold front passes. san francisco will see temperatures in the low 60s but hit the mid-70s for wednesday, and also cooler for the middle of the weekend. mike, how is it looking heading out there on the roads? >> kari, you talked about the wind gusts. san mateo bridge, altamont pass, your usual suspects. in san jose we did learn about this crash, the on-ramp at al ma, getting on north 87. the last couple minutes i've seen it refresh on the chp report. the motorcycle rider is okay. the fire department assistant for injuries just left the scene and cleared the scene so no more problem 87 at 280, the interchange was never an issue and the south bay in general very light. same thing on the peninsula. we have a new issue 280 near 92. we'll get more details over the next few. so far that side of the bay is

experience for everyone on the mountain. >> reporter: on the ride up, you can see a lot of rocks and dirt, certainly not a snowcovered mountain but there's just enough snow where it counts for visitors like henry and violet fairman. >> free skiing rocks! >> such tiny skis. the gilroy garlic festival may happen after all thanks to some neighboring counties. the ceo of the san joaquin asparagus festival said they couldn't let the garlic festival not happen. he pledges to host the festival. two weeks ago garlic festival organizers said they were canceling the big parts of the event because of rising insurance costs. the mass shooting at the festival in 2019 only played one part of that decision. happening tomorrow, president biden is expected to announce his first batch of

presidential pardons. three pardons are expected and ordinary 75 non-violent drug offenders will have their prison sentences shortened. this is part of a broader white house effort to make the criminal justice system more fair which the president touted as a key goal of this campaign and he is also expected to announce new job training measures and grants for felons reentering society. a whirlwind playoff. we hear from steph curry and klay thompson after the warriors win in memphis. the intensity they say they felt during and after the game. >> this series is a win/win for me. palo alto courthouse reopens today for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic. for the past two years, cases have been heard in san jose. in addition to the pandemic, the courthouse was also dealing with staffing and budget issues.
