light. elon musk causing more trouble for twitter and investors. will the government respond this time? this is today in the bay streaming live on roku, amazon fire and apple tv. let's start out with a look at the forecast. tracking what we can expect, when do we see the warm-up? >> it starts today for the inland areas. we check out palo alto and we have a nice cool start to the morning. temperatures falling another couple degrees before we start to warm up. 9:00 we see temperatures at 58 degrees . the sky really clearing out and we had for the upper 60s at lunch time and take a look at the difference in temperatures we will see from the coastal areas reaching into the low 60s to the north bay reaching up to 84 in santa rosa and 87 expected in

fairfield. there will be some hotspots once again as you make your way inland, we are also going to see it getting even hotter tomorrow. take a look at those numbers. we talk more about this and take a closer look at the forecast coming up in a few minutes. a new ray of hope for parents across the bay area. if you wits and for the nationwide baby formula shortage. the largest manufacturer in the u.s. reach a deal with regulators to reopen a production plant severely impacting supplies the longer that it remains closed. this comes as the local expert says that demand for breast milk has gone up by 25% here in the bay area. we go live to washington this morning and what is the timeline we are looking at to try to get some of the formula back into stores? >> reporter: good morning. once the fda and federal court gives abbott the green lights, it will take about two weeks to reopen the michigan facility. then another 6 to 8 weeks to

get the formula on the shelves. a promising sign for families searching for baby formula. abbott and fda regulators reaching an agreement to reopen the michigan manufacturing plant. under the deal, abbots must retain independent experts to review the facility operation and ensure it follows the law. the abbott ceo says we know millions of parents and caregivers depend on us and we are deeply sorry the voluntary recalls worsens the nationwide shortage. to help increase supplies, the fda is easing restrictions on global manufacturers. >> importing or bringing to bear a product intended for other countries. >> reporter: the biden administration is working with major u.s. producers to identify logistical hurdles. >> and issue a production more than move in. anytime we see an indication this is becoming a limiting

children. parents reportedly make it the green lights as soon as today for children 5 to11 years old. the cdc could announce recommendations in a matter of days. today in the bay kris sanchez is live this morning. when it comes to vaccinations and parents, you get mixed reactions. what are you hearing out there? >> reporter: i tell you, folks here at the pediatric office have been busy with parents coming in with younger children getting vaccinations for months. however, on the whole some parents are holding out saying children in this age group are not getting seriously sick. take a look at the vaccination rates for this group. 5 to 11 years old. nationwide only 20% of fully vaccinated in california, the number here is higher but only 35%. the fda is moving forward still on the booster and could green light the booster for elementary school-age children as early as today according to the new york times and the washington post. after that happens the cdc will

meet to make recommendations. we have been through this before so you might know it usually aligns with the fda. some research shows a vaccine protection is in the age group for faster than the rest of us because they have a regular dose which could be more critical for them than the general population. by the way on the covid friends, we are able to get more covid test from the government. the biden administration announced the website is open so we can order a new round of covid test and stay safe as we are still out and about. welcome leaders today hold a second reading of the recently approved dropping of the covid proof of vaccination requirement. council members two weeks ago approved the change for all indoor settings. the only places it is still required our assisted-living and senior centers.

yesterday. firefighters ended up canceling because conditions were too risky. provided the weather cooperates today, the burn is scheduled to start at 9:00 a.m.. how are conditions looking out there today? >> when they said they would do that yesterday i'm like, it will be super windy today. you know what? today looks a little bit better. we still are starting out with a breeze. as we take a live look outside in san jose. we are seeing 50s to start up the morning. then sunshine as we go into this afternoon. a little bit of a worm appear as we see in lynn valley start to heat up and receive low 80s for spots like concord. upper 80s for fairfield and low 80s for martinez and napa. san francisco today reaching 60 degrees. tomorrow is when the valleys reach into the 90s. take a look at livermore. 90 degrees and 95 in fairfield with oakland seeing a high of

very much against the rules. basic rules any business school freshman would understand. elon musk is concerned there are more fake users on twitter than the company is indicating. that might be a valid concern but is one of the things he said he would fix if he bought the company. the current ceo tweeted in a 13 tweet thread explaining the company methodology testing fake accounts to which musk responded with minimal due. the poop emoji may be juvenile but what musk did certainly violates scc regulations. the san francisco office of the securities exchange commission calling it unprintable and on broadcast able names. a court in los angeles with the

back in the bay area and happening today, oakland mason become a sanctuary city for women to get an abortion. we understand councilmembers consider a new resolution. >> reporter: good morning. this is in response to the leaks draft opinion from the u.s. supreme court. the high court is poised to overturn roe v. wade later this summer. planned parenthood ceos also say the decision about the high court will change the way services are provided for this one behind. later today at a regular meeting, the oakland council will consider a regular solution to protect abortion rights. other resolution calls for a number of things. oakland is a sanctuary city for women seeking an abortion especially for those coming from out of state where an abortion might someday be illegal. the proposal also is calling for congress to pass the

with folks actually sitting and working in the offices. especially here in the bay area. i did have a chance to speak with the chairman of castle systems. the company is a commercial real estate security provider for more than 3000 buildings including more than 20,000 companies. he tells us the pandemic, during the pandemic his company began tracking occupancy and they were key takeaways in the data that they gathered. one of which was an increase year to date. you compare that to people going back to the office or come together at sporting events or theater or air travel, it's almost to pre- pandemic levels. but the offices are lagging behind. the bay area has been the reason since the very beginning. he says right now the national average is 44% in san francisco
