nbc's janice mackey frayer is in beijing. >> reporter: authorities remain tight lipped about the cause of the crash and exactly what was said on the cockpit voice recorder officially what they will say is that they are following international protocols with the investigation. >> reporter: investigators have been looking into both pilots health, financial and family histories. but if the crash turns out to be intentional, it would join a deadly list of notorious suicide crash, including german wing, egypt air and silk air and it is among the leading theories for the disappearance after malaysia airlines flight 370, still missing with 239 people on board. this morning chinese aviation authorities say they have not yet reached a conclusion about what brought down this plane we should make the point china eastern airlines not returning our request for comment. but the fact that the 737-800, widely flown all over the world has continued to fly, no bullets or air worthiness directives really might suggest there is not a problem with the plane

eggplants roasting over the fire in my house. >> the first dip is lukanista. >> a bulgarian dish. and at home eggplant and peppers and really char them over open flame. you don't want exploding eggplant there is a bad way to start the day. after they cook for a while they get nice and charred and we cover them with a plastic wrap which helps to loosen the skins. >> i bet you could do this on an out door grill. >> yeah. or just right over the fire. and you can use foil underneath to make sure it doesn't get your kitchen too dirty. and then look how soft. >> once you roast just take the skin right off. >> peels right off and the peppers you also peel. and then you kind of like take the inside here and chop it up rough chop

all up and then over here you can see we have our rough chopped eggplant and peppers and the smell in your house right now will be like incredible we have olive oil in the pan and then tomato paste. we all are guilty of having that, like jar of tomato paste in our fridge that doesn't go anywhere and this is a way to use up a lot of tomato paste and it tastes really good and caramelize that. minced garlic with tomato paste. caramelize it, beautiful golden. add the peppers and eggplant in here cook all the up, add salt and crushed tomato as well and as it cooks for like about an hour, then look at this beautiful dish here. >> so you are not blending or pureeing anything. >> it just softens as it cooks. >> let's get the verdict. >> so good >> they are quiet because they are enjoying it. >> okay. good

so then what we do is we'll toss in parsley, mix it all together and then serve it with pita bread or vegetables or krut tay from there we also v also charred eggplant to make baba ghanoush >> one of my favorites i would think this would be too complicated to make. so tell me. >> -- we have garlic and just going to drizzle that lemon juice out of there and just use the garlic to season the lemon juice that way you don't get any of those chunks of garlic in your tahini and mix that up and it come together as incredible sauce then with the roasted eggplant you can use this eggplant for many things. chop it up once it is chopped up, i put it in strainer. and you can see it really reduces. it gives off a lot of -- >> wow. >> and this liquid you don't want in your baba ghanoush you want your baba ghanoush to be thick and rich. not really juicy so i get all the water out of there.
