humidity leading to a high fire danger for areas are shaded in red, that is the highest level of a warning, the red flag warning. but also for a lot of articles in the east bay hills will be under wind advisory. we do have to be really careful. already we have seen some of the wind gusts in san francisco reaching about close to 40 miles an hour there. mostly 20 to 30 mile-per-hour winds over the past 24 hours. it could get even stronger going into tonight. we will be watching that and talk about what is ahead for the weekend coming up point >> will check back with you. developing right now, a mystery this morning for authorities over in oakland. this is where at least two people are now hospitalized after their car crashed on interstate 580. the cart riddled with gunfire. >> we are joined love along the corridor this morning. what are you learning about the victims? >> reporter: good morning point we know that at least two, possibly three people were taken to the hospital. we are trying to confirm whether or not one of those

people might have died. were trying to confirm that through chp. this happened last night about a: 30. we put this map together so you can get an idea of where this happened. it was in oakland on eastbound 580 near the seminary avenue offramp not far from the highway 13 split. the call came in with a vehicle crash with injuries. but when chp arrived they realize that the people in the car had been shot, not cleaned the shooting happened on eastbound 580 itself or if the occupants were shot on a local side street and then got onto the freeway to either get away or to head to the hospital or someplace else. chp's shut down the shut down the offramp so they could search for evidence. the entire area has since been reopened. so for this year there have been 48 shootings on the freeways here in the bay area. you may recall last week a governor newsom announced funding to install cameras on the freeways. these cameras would be going in alameda and los angeles and orange county. reporting live, bob burdell.

is spreading and nevada is starting to make its way into san bernardino county and making conditions worse in southern california. as we look at what we are expecting right now, that is a severe drought. that is continue. the extent extreme drought just to the east. such a dry start to our year. we are dealing with the high wind is starting to pick up. also off towards the east, we are going to see the winds increasing for the hills, the north druid hills, east bay hills under a wind advisory starting tonight and continuing through tomorrow. as far as the temperatures, it is still been pretty warm. we should be in the mid-70s. we are headed to the mid-80s today and even i-291 in fairfield this afternoon. going into tomorrow, it is only fast slightly cooler. we still do see the cold weather continuing, san francisco and near the coast. we are looking at highs in the upper 60s and low 70s. more of that going into saturday as well. that is not much of a cool down for that north bay and sulfate

valleys. going into the next several days, we are going to continue on with dry conditions. but then towards the end of the forecast, possibly leading into memorial day, yes, that is next weekend, we are going to see a chance of cooler weather and possibly summary nearby. as we take a look at our seven- day forecast, highs in the upper 80s for the interior parts of the bay area and then more sunshine. getting even harder for early next week, with the some mid- 90s and the forecast on monday and tuesday. for san francisco, it stays really nice here. a breezy wind. we will see more sunshine as our temperatures reached near 70 degrees at least until early next week. mike, how was it looking going up for the commute? >> we are looking right here. this is a north north 80. just ahead of the interchange i showed you. a crest reported. everything i do the right shoulder. no major interest or injuries. everything is fine for the south bay, even the slowing has not kicked in for the second burst yet. along the peninsula, you're fine.

for 10:30 this morning. this is one in a long line of protest over this parking policy. it is not in effect since february. workers and allies have been pushing back against management plan since this plan was first announced. this is a practice back on february 20th. workers point out that minimum wage forcing them to pay to park really takes a chunk out of their paycheck. westfield valleyfair now charges employees three dollars a day or $40 a month to park. that monthly fee amounts to two and half hours of work. guests get to park for free for two hours. management's hope is to deter non-parkers, non-shoppers from taking up that valuable parking space. we talked with one ofhe protest organizers. understand why they must take out the money of the employees

it is 6:33 right now. happening today, two men charged in the death of a young girl at a south bay church are scheduled to appear in court. authorities this week arrested rene fernandez. police say the pair are grandfather and uncle of a 3- year-old girl who died last fall in a church in san jose. must get her to leave the young girl suffocated during some sort of exorcism ritual. the girls mother was arrested in january. the same church where the alleged exorcism happened is not tied to the recent kidnapping of a three-month-old boy. he was recovered and returned to his mother. >> san jose's police chief laying out a string of new reform measures to clean up the department. the mayor joined chief anthony mata to present the plan. the chief says that he means business, reminding everyone about the recent dismissal of four officers. the department facing accusations of officer misconduct involving drugs, booze, and sexual improprieties. he said that it is time to restore the public trust. >> when it comes to serious

creator of this experience, as well as brendan lange, he's with the san francisco botanical gardens. just a little bit of background it took a little while to get here. this was supposed to arrive a couple of years ago. >> we wanted to partner in 2020, we had 12 pianist throughout the garden for five days. it is coming back this fall because course, 2020 pandemic at and we were unable to do that. we are really excited to bring hunter back this year and bring piano music back to the botanical gardens. >> this is really just the perfect setting. it is a beautiful scene. folks have a chance to walk around. the unique part about this is the headphones. talk about the idea behind it. the fact that people can wear headphones and walk around and still hear the beautiful music. >> it is called in a landscape classical music. we take this to parks and

gardens and amazing spaces in the west. we are seeing 60 concerts this year. i play and people walk around with wireless headphones, and it gives them the flexibility to enjoy and connect with nature and connect with the music in a way that they might otherwise not. >> san francisco sets off this tour. give us a snippet of what folks can expect to hear. >> we will be at san today. look at you dunn up in one country by early next week. i will blow play a little bit of chopin.

the drought update this morning. a lot of a read here. that continues with the extreme drought across the central value and to southern california, also starting to see the exceptional drought out of nevada starting to spread into southern california. we will be watching that. for us, we do continue with the severe drought for most of the bay area with the dry conditions coming away for the weekend and some high winds and extremely dry vegetation, we do have the concern of fires they can develop and spread quickly because of the gusty winds that we will see picking up red flag warnings in effect starting late tonight. we do have wind advisories for these areas in orange. that is the upper elevations for the bay area where we could see fires and spreading quickly. we have also seen some much above temperatures for the past couple of days that continues today with highs in the upper 70s for san jose. tomorrow it is much more the same. notice how the coast and san francisco stays comfortable with

highs in the upper 60s and low 70s. we are also going to stay on repeat on saturday with hot ballet temperatures going into next week, still more dry weather. but there may be a change in torts at the end of next weekend. yes, that is in time for the memorial day travel day. we could possibly see some rain close by. we are still looking at dry weather once again in the near terms, temperatures in the upper 80s and low 90s, even mid- 90s early next week. san francisco will be near 70, with gusty winds at times into the weekend. how's it looking now? >> it is actually pretty pleasant. the celebration is a different pattern. notice that one-to-one starts back at capital expressway, past the city for normal. up at the airport, and at the top of the screen and towards mountain view and palo alto, the build is right for the express lanes open up. sellthrough san helen so, slow as well. >> 6:52 right now. happening now,'s self activities need your help finding a man. he had not been seen since leaving his home on a saturday.

least two people are hospitalized after the calls crest on 580. it was struck multiple times by gunfire. this is frightening. what we know about the victims? >> morning. we believe at least possibly three people were shot and taken to the hospital. we are trying to conform with one of those people might have died, trying to confirm that through chp. take a look at the on your tv screen. happened about a 30 last night. this was in oakland near this seminary avenue. not far from the highway 13 split. the call came in as a vehicle crash with injuries on the freeway. but with chp life, they brought the people in the car had been shot. it is not clear the shooting happened on is down five adsl for the occupants were shot on a local side street and then got on the freeway to either get away or head to the air force or somewhere else.
