we will see round two of that today and it will remain dry. there is actually a warming trend head into the work week. let's get your temperatures out the door. we are starting in the 40s and 50s right now in san jose. fremont 52, apollo 251 and here is a closer look at the full forecast. the hottest days are now are either tuesday or wednesday. temperatures in the 90s. that will bring air-quality concerns into the picture. also increased fire danger. and increasing wind from the north will also be a cause of concern and i will go to that as well in the full forecast. >> speaking of the increased fire danger, fast-moving planes flames near vacaville yesterday.

this is a look at it to the infrared camera. you can see the hotspots even as they were starting to gain the upper hand. it is 45% contained. >> you can still see some of the hotspots in the hills behind me pick one of the men i spoke with said he was putting up a fence along the hill when the fire broke out. he said he tried to put it up at the dry conditions and wind made it impossible. california's dry hills are already burning as we enter one of the most dangerous fire season yet. >> the fire moved pretty quickly close to our property line. >> wind and dry grass field flames that quickly grew to more than 100 acres. >> i drove off and left my gates open in case the fire

people needed to come. spike it started around 3:00 saturday afternoon. the fire grew from a patch to dozens of acres. he believed somebody was trimming weeds when the flames spark. he said he felt helpless and afraid because he could not do anything to stop the fire. he and in others tried to put it out with shovels and water but they went got ahead of them. air support had to be called in and thankfully forward progress has been stopped. they cited a man for potentially started the fire and he was arrested over outstanding warrants. cal fire is preparing for a long season ahead. >> it's a little bit early we've started to bring honor firefighters early. that is because of the dry conditions. in santa rosa that the date

investigators believe it might have been a result of a love triangle. mariah wilson lived in san francisco and recently burst on the competitive cycling scene. last week she went to austin, texas for a race but was found dead in the home where she was staying. there is now a search for this woman, katelyn armstrong. she was dating a professional cyclist which had a professional relationship with wilson. wilson's friends in the bay area are stunned. >> she was a very special person. she was intelligent and approachable and modest. she did not have an ego. >> her family is raising money to fund community organizations in her honor and a scholarship fund is in the works as well. there is new hope for

families desperately trying to feed their babies, even as a formula shortage continues for there is more supply on its way and there is also a network of moms helping other moms. >> the first shipments of baby formula, 132 pounds is leaving germany and heading to indiana. 1.5 million eight ounce bottles of formula scheduled to arrive in the u.s. next week. president biden also signed a bill to expand a baby formula access to low income families. abbott apologizes in an op-ed for his company's role in the nationwide shortage of baby formula. the apology comes as bay area families searching for formula are faced with empty shelves. at this cvs, they are out of similac formula. amy ford posted this photo on

police lays bare asking for surveillance video to help them track down the people who robbed and beat a woman at gunpoint. it was just before 11:00 on friday night that three men forced they wanted to a green four-door civilian. the pistol after cow rubbed her and forced her out of the car a few blocks away. the woman was taken to the hospital. police are asking neighbors to check the security cameras for the car the codes around that robbery. we have much more ahead. she is only 14 but her voice is become prominent across the bay area. she calls herself and accidental as biggest

up to the 60s and 70s. by 1:30, san jose will be in the 80s again, 81 degrees. warmer spots include tracy and fairfield. san francisco in the upper 60s. we are only expected to get hotter so let me take you through that. any time we see warmer temperatures, conditions start to dry out the high-pressure building in. you also have to consider the wind factor. into monday and tuesday drive. we will be monitoring the elevated fire danger practice is looking into monday's

forecast for we're looking at dry hills and look at your temperatures. fairfield is in the 90s. tuesday is expected to be only warmest days of the week. we could even see triple digits in areas like fairfield and concord. san jose will climb to the 90s. in the mid-70s santa cruz in the 80s. morgan get coastal cooling to the afternoon with sea breeze. this will bring coastal low clouds. heading into friday looking at the model run we have a strong pacific storm in the northwest and that will keep the majority of the showers north. it will also help kulas off in the upper 90s and triple digits.

7:29 as we take a live look at outside. we have another warm day across the bay area. thank you so much for joining us and starting your sunday with us. we are going to take a quick look at the four coursed. forecast. >> it's definitely going to be hot. 90s in the forecast for today. once again we will see the temperatures bump up into the 80s. it's 53 degrees in san francisco and we have a hazy sky going on. upper 50s are expected with low 70s around the bay and coast but take a look at san jose. 54 degrees but by 2:00 we will be in the upper 70s and another day in the 80s. here is a closer look at some of the headlines i will take you through in the full forecast. warmer temperatures next week, especially tuesday and wednesday. air quality concerns and

increased fire danger. we'll talk about that the full forecast. more than 100 acres scorched in the north bay as we stick with the fire danger. this is the quail fire. it is fast-moving and this is a time-lapse video. we also have a look at the fire from an infrared camera. you can see hotspots burning even as crews started to gain the upper hand. it is 45% contained and investigators are telling us they think they know how it sparked. >> you can still see some of the hotspots in the hills. one of the men i spoke with said he was out here putting up a fence along the hill when the fire broke out. he said he tried to put it up with the dry conditions and went made that impossible. >> the by. we are entering one

good morning bay area. we are starting a little hazy out there but it will be another warm day. if you have plans to be outside, please consider the heat when it comes to outdoor activities. let's take a look at how warm we will be today. this is just the beginning of a warming trend. san jose with a live look at downtown. we will get a little sunshine and it will be similar to yesterday for temperatures. here is a closer look at the hourly forecast. notice the timestamp up above. tracy 75, san jose, 71. fast-forward to about 1:00 or 2:00 and we are already in the 80s. san francisco will remain in the upper 80s near 90. we

are expected to get warmer. only see warming temperatures and high pressure starting to build things dry out and that brings the elevated fire concern. we have to consider the wind. 22 mile-per-hour wind in san francisco and santa rosa. notice it stays breezy into monday and tuesday. we will definitely be monitoring the situation with the dry hills. looking ahead to monday. take a look at the temperatures. we are talking mid-90s for fairfield, 95 for josi and morgan hill's upper 80s. we have an offshore flow that helps keep the temperatures cooler around the coast but still in the 70s for san francisco. tuesday, this will likely be the warmest day of the week. triple digit heat likely into fairfield.

san jose look into the 90s in santa cruz in the 80s. napa, upper 90s and some coastal cooling heading into wednesday but even then it remains hot and inland areas. right now we have a storm that stays to the pacific northwest. that will help close off until friday may 27. for now it looks like the forecast remains dry and as things continue to try out, look at the seven-day outlook. tuesday and wednesday we have to monitor the elevated fire danger along with warming temperatures. friday and saturday temperatures will cool off. inland areas have breezy, windy that will kick up as early as monday. dry wind into tuesday and wednesday and elevated fire danger is something we will continue to monitor. back to you. it is 7:44 and we have much more ahead on today in the bay. our political analyst will join

the offices from the governor all the way down to the insurance commissioner. 18 offices there. beyond that we have the u.s. senate. that one is quirky because you will see it up twice in the same office. the first is who we should vote on to complete the remaining term that kamala harris left and the second is for a six-year term. the deal is on both ballots and that is because the first is different from the second. >> because he was appointed as to elected. it makes sense. those are big. the state and federal offices but what about local races? but that is where we are flooded.

all bay area counties will have races. a number of them will be things like sheriff, supervisor, district attorney, the list goes on. in addition to that there will be city officers and in some cases it's for the mayor. we also have city council races and school board members and we have tax questions. do we want to increase taxes to provide more benefits to teachers and construction taxes to improve the classroom and school environment? those are a lot of issues and they will plague everybody, wherever they lived. >> what about anything out of the ordinary we should know about the upcoming ballot? >> if it's california, there's always something out of the ordinary.

i think there are three things we want to bear in mind. number one there are partisan races and nonpartisan races. the partisan races where you have a political party next to the name. there will be a runoff no matter the proportion of winter versus loser. there will be a runoff between the top two candidates. there will be nonpartisan races, that is if you have 50% +1 and a nonpartisan local election race, you win. you are done. you don't have to come back in november. the second thing, the selection comes right after redistricting. that is where all of the districts were changed whether it was federal, state or local. in order to balance the state's population out. you may have a different person or persons where you live because you are in a different district. watch for that. is will be a low turnout election.
