should be some trucks clearing this in a few minutes. we had a cruiser that was affected by some of this debris. light traffic is getting through the area. green sensors around the other counties. first, breaking news that we are all following in texas. the number of deaths at a elementary school shooting has now grown to 21. the families of 19 children and two adults are dealing with an unfathomable amount of grief this morning, and police tell us about the timeline leading up to the rampage. yesterday, police learned of the shooting, and 11 minutes later the school announced it was on lockdown. >> 30 minutes after that, a district reported the shooting on twitter. just a little bit after one p.m., 90 minutes after police

were first notified. a border patrol agent shot and killed the shooter. 18-year-old salvador ramas. >> americans everywhere are grieving the deadliest school shooting in nearly a decade. we follow the latest developments. >> reporter: two days before the end of the school year, and elementary campus is now a major crime scene. in all, 19 students and to teachers were shot and killed. the shooter was wearing body armor, and officers that responded had to wait for tactical teams to bring the rampage to an end. >> we need prayers to get us through this. >> reporter: it started at rob

elementary school. a local 18-year-old man abandon his vehicle, entering with a handgun and a rifle. investigators say that he got two rifles just days ago. >> we are obtaining detailed background information on the subject. >> to lose a child is like having a piece of your soul the way. -- ripped away. you feel like you will never be able to get out. suffocating. >> reporter: this comes after a mass shooting at a grocery store in ruffalo, new york. one decade after a shooting at sandy hook elementary school, renewing debate on gun control. >> we need to find a path forward here. work with in order to find a way to pass laws that make this

she has a seven-year-old son who is always listening. >> we try to limit the violence, the messaging, and all of that in the house. but, social media, the news, everywhere we go it is everywhere. if we do not share it with him, someone will. >> reporter: superintendents send out emails to parents denouncing violence and telling them that safety is a top priority. every campus in san jose mckinley school district will have a counselor on site. >> we have a full time social worker on each of our campuses, they will be available to talk about their feelings. >> processing this kind of school violence is one thing, and one psychologist tells us that it is important for parents to try not to show their fear, and focus on listening to their children. >> you do not want to traumatize them. you want to let them know that you are, as an adult, doing

welcome back, it is a quarter till five in the morning . we are looking outside at the bay bridge. the slowest part of the days right now. the warming temperatures from yesterday are still lingering. we have a look at the forecast for wednesday morning, right michelle grossman? >> we have a microclimate weather alert due to the high fire danger in solano county. as we go through the morning, we are still feeling the breezy wins. humidity is low this morning, but will be going up.

let's see how the day shapes up in pittsburgh. temperatures are in the mid-70s at 8:00, and, the normal high temperature, we could go up more for the mid-90s. we will see some high clouds filtering and, and a little bit more humidity. that could make it feel a lot hotter than 96 degrees. you need to ensure that you are staying hydrated today with these hot valley temperatures. livermore is 95. we had numerous records broken yesterday. it looks like today will be very close with santa rosa reaching 93 degrees. san francisco is going to be in the low to mid 70s, and half moon bay will be in the upper 60s. in hayward, it is 85 degrees. you can see how much hotter it will be for the south bay, there will be a significant drop in temperatures tomorrow, with highs mostly in the 60s and the 70s and, a few spots in the 80s. there is relief coming our way, that continues into friday as

well as the holiday weekend. even on saturday, there was a chance of spotty light showers, especially for the north bay. it will be cool and cloudy with light rain moving through. also a chance of rain for this area. for the bay area, it will stay dry. brentwood goes from triple digit temperatures to highs in the 70s for the weekend. that is going to be so much nicer. even for memorial day we look at temperatures in the low 80s, and then had for the low 90s by the middle of next week. we are looking at some egg swings in our temperatures, but the heat is still with us today, it will back off tomorrow and we will see highs in the upper 70s and low 80s. this will continue through the weekend, sun and clouds, and gusty wind. memorial day highs are in the 80s while san francisco will see highs in the 70s, and 60s in the forecast with gusty winds. mike, what is the app date?
