people coming to us, going to the school looking for comfort. >> we're still grabbing a lot of information. >> reporter: authority said a grunt gunman crashed his grandmother's car. when this is i'm carrying a long gun and a bag. he carried it two people outside of the funeral home across the street before going to the elementary school. at 11:30, the first 911 call came in this video shows the gunman dressed in black, long gun in hand, entering the school, 10 minutes later. the doors were unlocked. >> was there a school officer on campus? was the school officer armed? that is what we have been told. >> know. no. student there was not an officer available. >> reporter: four minutes after the shooter enter, local people -- local police arrived.

officers said they were treated, and called for reinforcement. a tactical team arrived at 12:47. >> the border patrol tactical teams arrived. they make entry. they shoot and kill the suspect. admitted the shooter within the classroom for an hour before they took him out. video after the video rampage shows loved ones being restrained outside of the school, unable to get to their children, begging officers to go in. the grieving husband of one of the teachers killed has died according to a family member, 50-year-old, joe garcia, the husband of irma garcia, suffered a medical emergency on thursday after laying flowers at her memorial. they are survived by their four children. >> keep uvalde in your prayers. >> reporter: as the small community tries to cope , and hold each other together. ian cole, today in the bay.

texas governor greg abbott will not attend the nra annual meeting in person. that event starts in about 90 minutes in houston. the governor was slated to speak. instead, he will give a prerecorded video message. he will hold a news conference in uvalde . the political battle heating up over what can be done to prevent this kind of tragedy from happening again. democrats are trying to win so worked for expanding background checks and other gun control legislation. republican lawmakers oppose any attempt to modify the nation's gun laws. texas senator ted cruz was pressed by sky news correspondent. >> we want to stop violent crime. the proposals the democrats have, it would have stopped this. >> what is this only happen in your country? the people around the world cannot fathom, why is this american exceptionalism so awful? soon you know, i'm sorry you think american exceptionalism

very much, good morning to you. wall street will open slightly high. market between wrapping up a positive way. the dow is rising for a fifth straight session yesterday, up 500 points. the s&p 500 is miming about 2%. the nasdaq was up 3%. the stocks are getting abused from a batch of strong earnings from retailers making people feeling good about consumer. dollar general was among this and outs. the dow is looking to snap an eight week losing streak. the s&p and nasdaq are looking to break a seven week losing streak. more focus on the consumer warts with personal income and spending, and consumer sentiment. cosco is reporting quarterly results that were better than wall street was looking for. consumers continue to spend. they spent on home furnishings and other goods.

weekend. temperatures are in the upper 50s across the bay area. it is cooler in a few spots. it is 57 in san jose. if you are able to enjoy your friday afternoon, the half moon bay will start out with clouds and fog. we should see some bits of sunshine. the jacket stays on as the highs reach into the upper 50s. let's go to the south bay, where will be much warmer. it will reach 80 degrees. we will be in the upper 70s in downtown san jose. martinez will see a high of 77. in oakland, we have a high of 71. daly city will reach 75. in the north bay, it will be anywhere from the low 50s in bodega bay to 77 in clearlake and napa. we are seeing a wide range in temperatures. it is not the extreme heat we had in the valleys. tomorrow, we have clouds moving in. do not be surprised if we have sums body sprinkles.

we can see that in the north bay, and along the coastline. we have cool air moving in and drizzling as we go through saturday afternoon and evening. if you have each plans, it will not be the best weather. i do think it will improve on sunday into monday. we are looking at the ten-day temperature trend in livermore. we go from the 70s to the 80s. we will spike up to 91 next week. we will quickly cool back down. the inland areas with the highs in the 70s over the memorial day holiday. how is it looking out for the morning commute? >> it looks like folks are getting ready to leave. we are looking at the golden gate bridge. they removed the last stretch of cones. the cautions and was blinking until a couple seconds ago. it is talking about the north bound lanes being open. they have to move the center divide next. the road crews are going back to the speed limit. they are all finished with
