degrees. we are heading for cooler weather for the weekend. we will talk about that, coming up. good morning. we had some overnight fender benders but now we are seeing some smooth drive times. in the south bay we are looking at 18 minutes. from highway 85, to highway 101, about 20 minutes. taking it over to the peninsula, there was some construction previously from overnight on southbound 101. now we are looking for a bit of 11 minutes. we have a closer look on how the rest of the drive times are doing and the bay area traffic cams in just a few minutes. thank you, vianey. families feeling the stress of rising inflation.

a very good morning to you. we are taking live look outside in downtown santa fe san jose. it is a nice day ahead. let's look at the forecast. it is going to be cooler than the weather we have had recently. it will not be clear and sunny all day. let's get this started in oakland this morning with a live look outside. temperatures in the mid-50s.

we will see temperatures heading for the mid-60s by 11:00. eventually we are make it up to about 73 degrees today. we will be cooler in dublin, reaching 77 and 84 in santa rosa while san francisco will be about 64 today. a brisk onshore wind flow that is going to cool off the temperatures even more so tomorrow as the highs are going into the mid-70s for livermore and san jose. about 73 degrees for friday. on saturday, it is mostly cloudy and there will be a chance. we could see some spotty showers especially late in the evening into sunday as we start to see more clouds approaching. you can see the clouds across the region. higher can humidity. we do have some gusty winds, but with the higher humidity and more clouds and cooler temperatures, we are seeing things once again improve. what is noticeable here is the fact that we can see some rain

on sunday. scattered showers possible them back to the dry weather. possibly more active weather through next weekend with another chance of rain. this is june that we are talking about the possibility of 0.10 inches of rain for most of the bay area. looking at ukiah, it would be amazing to get 0.5 inches of rain or more. we watch out for that late saturday into sunday with scattered showers. highs in the mid 70s. we go back to warm and dry weather for the first part of next week. but as we look in at the extended range forecast, you can see the possibility of rain again by next friday. we expect a chance of showers on sunday in san francisco. highs throughout the weekend only reaching into the mid-60s. all right. vianey, heading out the roads, are there any issues on the commute? we do have a little bit of slowing into the tri-valley. passing into the altamont. we can see a little bit more with the yellow and we have some

slowing. looks like there could be some overnight traffic concerns. constructions and things like that. i do want to show you how the south bay is doing right now. we have a smooth commute to the south bay. no issues through there. as far as the drive times go, once we get through a little bit of the slowing to the south bay, take a look at the south bay drive times. we are looking at about 12 minutes on northbound 87. northbound 17 from highway 85 to highway 101, 8 minutes. we will have a close look at how the rest of the drive times are going. the goal is to see how sustainable life in space is. investigating polar explorer rover will scan for ice droplets. it's about the size of a golf

you know what? it looks like a dip at the pool could be a problem this year because there is a labor shortage. they're not enough lifeguards in the bay area. santa clara is short by about 40 of them. the recreation manager says that without enough lifeguards, the days at the city pools must be cut from six days to two days. they are also offering fewer swim lessons. >> i think we would see closer to 50, 60, 70 applicants roughly on an annual basis. this year we had 22. >> we heard from a few other city leaders across the bay area. they both say that they have enough lifeguards just to make it through the summer. next on nbc bay area, we will have a live look in london where thousands are gathering to celebrate queen elizabeth's platinum jubilee. we are standing by for a special report on all the excitement. happening now here at home. fire season under way. cal fire says that they responded to nearly 2500 wildfires this year. 18 of california's most
