good monday morning. thank you for allowing us to be part of your morning. i am marcus washington. >> let's look at the forecast, let's welcome mike back in just a little bit, but gary is tracking what we can expect as we start our work week. >> the rain is moving through parts of the bay area, i love this shot. you can see the fog rolling across san francisco, as you make your way inland, we are starting out with spotty skies and gradually going to see the clouds rolling out of here. dublin, it is 60 degrees, then you will see upper 60s by 11:00. it will eventually had for 77 degrees. it will be warm like it was yesterday. you will see a lot of inland valleys reaching 83, like santa rosa, and san francisco will stay cool in the upper 60s. more changes ahead as we get hotter temperatures moving into the bay area. we will talk more about that coming up. welcome back, how is it looking for the early morning commuters?

>> we are migrating into the summer months, so we expect lighter traffic. as we look at the e shore freeway, things are very light right now. let's take a look at our map. we can see green throughout, there is a small accident that was just reported in san jose. this is that that the 101. i will follow up soon, back to you. in the south bay, the river glen community is mourning the loss of a young man who was the latest victim of gun violence. he was shot and killed early sunday morning while working at a safeway on meridian. as today in the bay reports, police are trying to track down the person responsible for his death. outside the san jose store, there were signs turning customers away for the next 48 hours. police are investigating the killing of a store worker.

>> it is insane that people would try to do that to others. i am shocked. >> it is horrendous and awful. he was a lovely young man. needless to say, gun violence is everywhere. it has hit close to home. >> reporter: there was an altercation between an employee and a suspect. when officers arrived, they found a young man shot to death. friends and family have identified the victim as 24- year-old. >> he was cheerful. he was young. >> reporter: his coworkers say that his death was the result of theft going wrong. >> someone was trying to steal liquor. they turned around and shot him. >> reporter: employees say this happens far too often. >> i have seen people stealing, but i have never -- to that

extent? it's crazy. >> reporter: in a statement the campus sent condolences to his friends and family, and his death is a heartbreaking loss for the san jose state university community. the brother was too devastated to speak out, he says that he keeps thinking his brother is coming back home, police are still searching for the suspect. time is running out for voters to cast their ballot. tomorrow is the last day to vote in a june primary. early voting centers in san francisco have in person voting and vote by mail options available. this will be decided by tomorrow's vote, u.s. senators, state leaders and local officials. in sonoma county, some voter information guides had the wrong date. the first special election was held in windsor on april 12, rather than june 7th.

smoothly. everyone is heading westbound into the peninsula. no problems with traffic in the bay right now. good morning, wall street is opened higher as the markets, the dow, nasdaq and s&p 500 fell 1%. investors have been worried that the federal reserve will raise interest rates to fast, and by too much, causing a recession. officials indicate hikes of half a% are likely at their meetings in june and july. in focus this week, reports on consumer credit, consumer sentiment, jobless claims and the consumer price index which is out on friday. this could offer insight as to whether prices have peaked. elon musk is backtracking or clarifying news about the possible job cuts at tesla. in an email sent to executives

the mountains measured over two inches of rain, and further to the north we had an inch and a half at atlas peak. napa county had almost an inch of rain. over towards the east bay, we had about three quarters of an inch of rain. even though we did see some very high amounts of rainfall to the north, unfortunately, i lot of vegetation is not able to absorb that because it has already dried out. we are seeing record drive fuels out there. we go back to our dry and warm weather, moving into today in the next several days. as we plan our day for walnut creek, we start out at 61 degrees. we will head up to 80 today. the mostly sunny skies means that temperatures around the bay area will reach into the upper 70s. mid-70s for oakland. low 80s for the tri-valley towards livermore, and san jose reaching 78 degrees. it will warm up a little bit tomorrow, notice the range and

temperatures. 66 in half moon bay to 90s in fairfield. we will see operate is for the south county for the next few days as the wind picks up harriet we will start this up by the end of the week. let me show you our 10 day temperature trend for brentwood. i don't know if you are ready for this. certainly not. we have a nice and mild start to the week, but by friday we could be hitting 100 and four degrees. we could be setting some records here, and it is very early to have temperatures like this reaching the triple digits. some of our inland areas will be much hotter, but overall we are looking at the low to mid 90s by thursday into friday. it is going to be very hot on saturday as well. we will not see much of a heat up in san francisco but there will be a change from what we see today from the upper 60s to the upper 70s by friday.
