outside. a view of oakland. today money parts of the east bay will be seeing really warm temperatures. folks are already out and about getting a jump on the day. we will checked want to commit with mike in just a moment, but first let's check in with carrie hall right now. how high temperatures are we talk about here? >> it could be much hotter than yesterday. we are starting out with some upper 50s right now so those early morning hours, the best time to get things done outside and around the house. take a look at antioch and how we are starting out the morning with the commute. we have mid-60s this morning, we will see mostly sunny skies and already in the low 80s by 11:00 and eventually heading for the upper 90s today. it will reach 98 degrees in fairfield some dangerous eat really starting to ramp up along with the high fire danger that continues due to the dry vegetation. in the north bay, temperatures are in the mid 90s today and

san francisco will be in the mid-70s. we will talk more about even hotter temperatures in the forecast coming up. hopefully it is still quiet with the commute. >> it is quiet, but we got a report with something on the bay bridge as we take a look at the view from the emeryville camera. tail lights. i'm watching them well spaced heading around the bend into the tunnel. you see treasure island tunnel. that is, they looking for a traffic break. we look at the map and there's report of a disabled vehicle and traffic rake which may be going on right now and i see a little bit of slowing just past the tunnel and maybe escorting a vehicle off san francisco will double check on that. so far no lanes blocked on the bay bridge, no problems around the bay for the crash cleared from highway 13 in oakland. >> it is 432 right now and tonight, the january sixth selection committee is set for a prime time hearing where there are sure to be fireworks. >> they are investigating the january siege and an interview with witnesses that had first- hand accounts of what happened

that day. we are on l with what we can expect today. >> it has been nearly a year and have since rioters stormed the u.s. capital and tonight the house committee investigating the insurrection will hold the first of at least six public hearings. this hearing is expected to provide an overview of the jerry six committee nearly year- long investigation. the panel says you can expect the combination of documents the public is not yet seen before and witness accounts of what happened. those testifying include the first law enforcement officer injured by writers and a british filmmaker followed the far right extremist group the proud boys as they stormed the u.s. capital. in addition, committee members will provide the american people they say with an initial summary of the findings so far. they say all of this is part of the efforts to dig into form president trump's actions during the insurrection. the election fraud claims that motivated the attack and law enforcement's response.

60s all week but today, mid-70s and 84 in the fremont and 92 in livermore. tomorrow is when we reached the peak of the heat and take a look at how much hotter it will be with fairfield reaching 15 degrees. morgan hill reaches 99 and 88 in oakland with santa rosa maybe a degree under 100 degrees. toward saturday, it starts to cool down near the coast and slightly for the inland areas with much more of an ocean breeze picking up and we will have heat advisories in effect for pretty much all the bay area with an excessive heat warning and for solano county throughout the day on friday. and when we compare where we are heading versus the records, i think santa rosa may match the one degree record elsewhere. we are most likely just going to stay just below a record high and with the intense heat building, at least we don't see it sticking with us long heading toward the end of the weekend, there'll be some rain moving in with some scattered showers and parts of the northbay and for northern california as well as the sierra , a quick chance of showers but we will all get a cooldown and
