around san francisco and no sign yet of a strong sea breeze or fog, obviously, around san francisco. this war start, mid-60s outside . you don't even need a jacket. temperatures in the 90s at lunchtime. mid-90s in the warmest parts around the bay area. tri-valley, 70s and 80s. but get ready for some big changes tomorrow. more clouds and a boost in humidity, a chance of some showers. we begin right now with the search continuing for fatally shot a grocery store employee. this is his coworkers and friends gathering to mourn his loss. manuel "manny" huizar cornejo was shot last sunday morning. the store closed early yesterday so his coworkers

could attend a memorial outside the store. but it wasn't just family and friends in attendance. those there were her middle school english teacher, -- >> he was one of my favorite students. even though we shouldn't say we have favorites. he was definitely one of those kids that make it hard day of teaching a great day. i'm just heartbroken. he's such a good person. i just don't know why things happen to the good people. >> earlier this week their family said they will organize a peaceful march against gun violence. palo alto police are asking for your help solving a cold case. she was celebrating her 21st birthday when she was shot and killed outside a cafe nightclub in palo alto. it happen in june investigators say dozens of people witnessed the shooting death but no one has come

forward. there is now a $100,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. turning now to the school massacre in uvalde, texas, and the police chief. finally telling his side of the story. and it interview with the texas tribune he spoke about the response to the active shooter. why he didn't have a radio, and the chain of command. nbc's morgan chesky has this report. >> reporter: tonight, pete arredondo defending his response. the police chief and his attorney telling the texas tribune, he was committed to stop the shooter or die trying. running into robb elementary on with the service pistol and no body armor. but the police veteran left not one, but two police radios, outside the school. telling reporters that he thoughtthey would slow him down. >> he said that was a conscious

into the hallway. he is refuting the claim from dps that he was the one in charge. arredondo said he had taken on the role of frontline responder inside the school. assuming some other officer or official had taken control of the larger response. >> that was morgan chesky reporting. the chief went on to say he never gave orders to any other agency because he was unaware he had been made the incident commander. happening today, people across the country are expected to turn out for the march for our lives. a movement against gun violence. this year's march coming just weeks after the shooting in uvalde, buffalo, and philadelphia, along with so many more since in. there will be marches across the bay area including in san francisco, san jose, redwood city, bonita, and pacifica. you can find one are you at their website

turning out to symptoms of monkeypox. they might look different injury cases than they have in the past. that is the new message from the cdc. they are asking doctors to look out for rashes among patients, but health laser leaders say the rashes are different than what was seen in the past from africa. and some of the new cases, monkeypox has caused people to develop what looks like a pimple or blister instead of a rash. in other cases, tiny bumps are the only indication of an infection. historically, it has given patients like symptoms there are five reported probable cases in the bay area. one in alameda county and four in san francisco. health leaders are waiting for confirmation on the latest

three cases from the cdc. only one of the patient's traveled within the u.s. and the other two did not. all of the patients are isolating and we are told they are doing okay. health leaders continue to urge people to be cautious but say the risk of contracting the virus is relatively low. if you traveled abroad, you will not need a covid test to get back into the u.s. the cdc is dropping the requirement. it starts tomorrow. after months of pushback from airlines in the travel industry, the u.s. will be joining several of the countries in abandoning the covid testing will. it puts an end to one of the last travel restrictions of the pandemic. masking is no longer required in flight. the cdc says they will reassess the decision in 90 days and make any necessary changes if there is a new variant. turning out to the nba finals. both teams now headed back to san francisco for game five. the warriors regaining home- court advantage after winning last night in boston. steph curry was on fire with 43 points in 10 rebounds.

saturday morning. a live look outside in oakland. it is expected to be a scorcher in parts of the inland areas today. meteorologist rob mayeda will detail that in just a few ol that in two tomorrow. a an estimated 20 million people tuned in to watch the senate hearing on the house panel investigating the january 6th insurrection. nielsen reports 12 networks aired the hearing. but the total viewers does not include those who watched online or on pbs. fox news did not air the hearings. they had about 3 million viewers during that same time span. the hearing resumes on monday. president biden was in southern california and dressing inflation concerns and delivered a speech yesterday from the port of los angeles, which is the busiest port in

announced it is moving the work stoppage from overnights to daytime hours, june 20th. that is just days before the union's contract is set to expire. what that means is no one will be working the first shift from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. then they will start again at 6:00 p.m. the change was made so that lack longshoremen could celebrate the juneteenth holiday which falls on a sunday and will be widely observed on the 20th. we are going to shift gears and talk about staying in a vacation rental. did you know the host might be watching you, even indoors? you can take steps to know if they vacation rental has spying eye max. >> reporter: if you think cameras are totally forbidden from k vacation rental, i am afraid you are wrong. your house can have a camera outside the house and inside some parts of the house. let's look at the gravels.

they permit cameras outside. ss surveillance devices such as security cameras and smart doorbells are about. but not inside. airbnb has different rules. it says we prohibit any security cameras and other recording devices that are in or that observed the interior of certain private spaces. such as bedrooms and bathrooms. cameras that are not in certain private spaces might be allowed. airbnb says, we require host to disclose all security cameras and other recording devices in their listings. that is the first place you should look for a camera. in the listing. looked under house rules. say there is no camera listed there but message the host anywhere. if you get it answer that's cagey, let the booking company know. if the host says there is a security camera not disclosed in the booking, airbnb says you get your money back. say you find a camera that is not supposed to be there.

be food trucks, local giveaways, vendors and so much to do today. let's check in with meteorologist rob mayeda who was in this morning with a check of our forecast. were starting to see a hint of cooling changes outside. some occurring around the golden gate bridge in a selfies when picking up. we will watch that closely as it moves to the north bay and lead to cooling temperatures. especially by tomorrow. 66 degrees to start the morning. another location to see numbers that high today in the low 90s, is san jose. a warm start and 67 degrees. look at the view of the golden gate bridge. we are beginning to see some changes. look at the fog there. locales poring over the hilltops and that is a sign of some cooling about to take

place. the wind is starting to develop. we will see stronger winds this afternoon. for another day, solano county, excessive heat expected again today. been trending cooler for sunday. morning temperatures in the mid to upper 60s. noontime temperatures in the low 90s around fairfield in mid to upper 80s around san jose. downtown getting close to 90 degrees and then we see the lone 90 south of san jose. 70 to 80 around oakland. sunday, all areas start to drop off. upper 70s to low 80s but some interesting changes on sunday. more clouds and a chance we could see isolated showers, but

also widespread humidity coming back. an atmospheric river connection will bring in those clouds and for a time tomorrow, we might have some drizzle on sunday morning. noticed a chance of showers passing by the north bay early tomorrow. that will continue during the day on sunday. just enough to wet the ground in a few areas. as the system is up, we will see the clearing skies, and then, potentially, not just warming temperatures but the wind direction because by tuesday we will likely use the sea breeze and switch back to a north wind. we will have to watch that closely. so, a lot of changes going on in the seven-day forecast. the heat should level off and drop off more for sunday, but the chance of a few isolated showers and some widespread humidity. not like last weekend, but by our standards, it will feel muggy outside tomorrow. things dry out and turn warmer and by

i'm kira klapper. we are beginning to see signs of cooler changes just around the corner. is a warm start to the morning. 67 degrees. we are off to a running start in terms of the temperature, but look at the golden gate bridge. the fog is rolling underneath the bridge, but notice how it is compressed down. this is the first sign of cooling. we will see that onshore wind pick up in the low clouds will thicken as we head towards the afternoon. 62 in san francisco. lunchtime, 80s to low 90s in land, but no triple digits on the board. 70s closer to san francisco. tomorrow, an increase in humidity and a chance of showers. a closer look coming up in about 10 minutes.

a closer look shows another atmospheric river connection will boost the humidity for tomorrow and possibly give us enough moisture to get some drizzle or light showers. by sunday morning, across the north bay, midday is the best chance, around 1:00 to 3:00 tomorrow. after that we will see things were made up as we approach the middle part of next week. it's not like last weekend but we hope just enough to briefly what the granite spots around the coastal hills in north bay for sunday. after that, clearing skies and a warming trend taking us into monday and tuesday. san francisco seeing that cooldown chicken tomorrow. the humidity will go up for sunday and we dry out monday into tuesday. inland locations, no 100s into the forecast. a chance of a few sprinkles and humidity goes up and then comes down rather rapidly as winds turned out of the north. we have to watch for fire danger due to north wind, but no big heat and that forecast.
