week. thank you. 5:06. help could soon be on the way for student struggling to make it in the bay. a proposed state senate bill were provide a guaranteed income for students with no place to live barbara del joining us from the east bay. how much money are we talking about? >> reporter: good morning. first of all, this senate bill 1341 was proposed by senator dave cortez the of silicon valley, which would help unhoused high school graduates. this would provide $1000 a month guaranteed income for five months following the student's high school graduation. this would allow them time to enroll in college, a vocational program, or get a job in california, their 15,000 unhoused seniors would benefit. the senator said this guaranteed income would break the cycle of homelessness for students like this one.

quarters of a percent, which haven't happened since 1994. an apple's revenue from music and gaming is expected to top $8 billion a year by 2025 as the iphone maker taps it's massive user base to drive subscriptions. jp morgan set apple music and apple arcade are likely to have about 180 million combined customers in the next three years boosted by the rapid spread of the internet and a booming gaming industry. apple music, which launched in 2013, is the second biggest music streaming service after spotify. and amc said ticket sales this past weekend were 50% higher worldwide than the same time in 2019 before the pandemic took a major bite out of movie theaters. amc said nearly 5 million people watched a movie at one of its locations. theaters have seen a boost in the past month from the opening of jurassic world dominion and top gun: maverick. amc ceo said the industry is

humidity. remember how humid and muggy it was over the weekend? the system has made its way east and we have high pressure over the bay area. we have less than double digits when it comes to humidity in fairfield. 6%. the reason why this is significant is you need to keep in mind we have a lot of dry brush out there. we have not seen significant rain in quite some time. anytime we see the humidity drop come it means conditions get more dry and that means elevated fire danger's. we have a roller coaster of tempers the next seven days. we have rain today at 15 to 30 miles per hour. temperatures are warm through wednesday. thursday we dip into the 60s. we go from 90s tuesday and wednesday, down into the 80s on thursday and the system moves in on friday which will coalesce into the 70s. saturday will be cool and comfortable around 74. father's day weekend we start and other rising t80s that it w be a sunny week ahead. now let's get a check of

extreme drought conditions, especially in the bay area and southern california. you can see that in the red and dark red areas of the map. in response, east bay m.u.d. and santa clara valley water district will hold meetings today to talk about the latest water conditions and rates in san jose many water customers can expect rates to go up next month with the city council recent approval. the increase in past customers of san jose municipal water system which serves 136,000 residents in north san jose, coyote valley and evergreen areas. the increase comes as the region faces another extended drought and policy last year's rate hikes. san jose expects operating cost to go up and when the to make up for that with higher rates. actual rates will vary by customer and water usage but an average residential monthly bill of someone in the north san jose service area will likely be an additional $24 a month. evergreen area residents can expect an additional $16 a

month. of course we we keep you updated on what happens with santa clara water valley district and east bay m.u.d. later today at those meetings. in the next few days the supreme court could soon issue an opinion on roe v. wade. you may recall politico published a leaked draft opinion last month indicating the supreme court is set to overturn it. in response, the san mateo county board of supervisors will consider providing $1 million to planned parenthood later today. another aspect of the county plan includes crafting a buffer zone around planned parenthood clinics to protect patient and employees from harassment. also today vice president kamala harris will meet with lawyers from across the country to discuss what is at stake here. today, the san jose city council will vote on mayor sam liccardo's recommendations for his budget. he wants to add more police officers to that city ranks

including 20 more officers for foot patrol downtown also for officers to expand the mobile crisis assessment team which pairs police with mental health professionals when responding to people having a mental health crisis. this is part of the ongoing efforts to expand the police force . san jose police are investigating three pelican attacks. over the weekend we told you about a 15 year old girl hit in the back while walking with a friend on monroe street near valley fair mall. she was hospitalized and suffered extensive injuries including a fractured rib but has now been sent home. police now confirm there were two more pelican attacks the same day. a nine-year-old girl was hit near westgate mall and a woman was also shot near sevens creek boulevard. police are still searching for those responsible . elon musk will attend and all hands meeting at twitter later this week. the social

control and at a better pace. meteorologist trentor has been tracking those conditions. what the weather help the firefight? >> it will improve a little bit. yesterday we had the wind that was gusty at times. this was yesterday. we had a dusty westwind at 20 miles per hour and we had warmer temperatures in the 80s. looking into the evening we continued to see clear skies and temperatures will be into the 80s, as well. conditions is still dry but the wind could play a big factor heading into the afternoon. we will monitor that closely because we will also see our own elevated fire danger locally in the bay area. san francisco will see the wind pick up this afternoon. and a live look at san jose. clear skies to start with temperatures running 10 degrees warmer today compared to yesterday so i will take you through that track of that and what to expect the remainder of the week coming up.
