we could see a boost of 25% to 50% revenue and hotels are expected to be at capacity during the months long series of matches. the quickly approaching 6:00 this morning and we are following breaking news. it's good to have you with us this morning. i'm kris sanchez >> i'm marcus washington. that breaking news coming out of contra costa county as a brush fire is burning. today in the bay streaming live for you on roku, amazon fire, apple tv, and online. >> here's what we know about that fire. it's a brush fire burning in pittsburg. crews are quickly making progress . new video overnight of flames coming into the newsroom this morning. firefighters tell us there are still evacuations underway at this hour and officials are calling for an immediate evacuation for the areas north

of jacqueline drive south of west leland road, east of bailey road, and west of san remo way. those are the locations you will see on your map. golf course. bob redell is at the scene. what are you learning now? we heard there is some containment but that does not mean the fire is out. >> reporter: con fire has put attitude using the forward progress has been stopped on this wildfire burning on the heels behind me. about the evacuations. i spoke to someone that we believe the evacuation order may have been lifted we have not confirmed that through police and fire but we do see cars coming back and talking to residents return. here is the hillside that burned. you can see how close it came to these homes last night. again, con fire saying the

forward progress has been stopped. we have not seen flames or smoke since we arrived and it's been over now will be been on the scene. this is cell phone fire from the fire when it started around 1:40 or 2:00. this is taken by people who live here. you can see how intense the flames were as a burnt up the hillside and along the ridge line. it's very windy out here and unfortunately the wind was blowing the fire away from these homes come not into them. there have been no reports of any injuries or damage thus far. >> the master bedroom is the same side of the hillside on fire so the whole inside of the room was lit up. i got dressed. she got all the animals. i told her to leave and i went and knocked on neighbors doors. >> there was an explosion. it woke up some of us i guess at 2:00 or so. then the police were here knocking on doors to evacuate. we go out and see the fire.

and we see the rage right there. >> reporter: this is the time lapse from wildfire.org, one of their cameras. you can see how quickly this fire took off. we believe it started around 1:40 or 2:00. you heard one of the neighbors mentioned there was an explosion. some people thought maybe it was a transformer that exploded but that is not confirmed. a couple people did hear a loud noise pick some popping and then the fire took off. as you can see behind me, we haven't seen flames or smoking over an hour. you do see the chart hillside and forward progress has been stopped according to confire and i we believe people are allowed back into the neighborhood. this neighborhood is southeast of highway 4 and the bailey road exit. bob redell, today in the bay. >> that is good news because we know how quickly things can change when it comes to those fires. and it doesn't take much of

a shift in wind. you can see that chart hillside. vianey arana, we know the wind is always a factor. >> you heard bob mention how the direction of the wind was helpful for the residents because if it went in the opposite direction of where the homes were and we will see a shift of the wind heading into the afternoon. at least temperatures will be favorable. we will be cooler today and to give you an idea of how gusty it will get to the afternoon i want to take you through the timestamp around 9:30, the winds will pick up. 15 to 20 miles per hour and then we see an increase heading into the 2:00 hour around napa, concord and livermore we will notice the increase and i will guide you through the timing to the remainder of the week coming up. we are also following breaking news in oakland where police say one person died after a quadruple shooting outside halftime sports bar around 11:00 last night. you can see a heavy police presence

6:15. this is a perfect picture of the weather we are expecting. mark cloud cover and look at that flag in the distance. the wind is expected to pick up with an onshore flow. we will discuss the details heading into the weekend coming up. it's now 6:16. this is the build in san jose. the slowest section we see and live cameras in san jose. i will show you the bay bridge piqua metering lights have been on for about half an hour. we will show you that held up coming up. the fed this week raised interest rates to the highest levels in more than 30 years and we could see more hikes down the road. we spoke with scott anderson, a chief economist at bank of the west, we started our

conversation with a big question. could this lead to another recession? >> the fed doesn't want to say this but their track record on slowing the economy down without a recession by raising interest rates isn't spectacular. they've only done it a handful of times, two or three times, in the last 30 years. the risk of recession is very high. i would put it at close to 50% right now. there is a narrow window for the fed to achieve their goals but they need some help on the supply side and that will really depend and how the war in ukraine plays out and whether we get the supply chains going again in china. and so the fed is really in some uncertain territory nimble and need to be noble unhappy groupon respond to the slowing economy. i think it will take some time. six or 12 months before you really start to see the risk of recession the greatest. >> so what should people do right now as we look at our retirement accounts? it's hard to look. >> it sure is. a lot of the artifacts of the

fed tightening financial conditions and raising interest rates is the trying to take the exuberance of the financial markets so they are no longer trying to prop up the stock market. and you've seen the stock market already pricing in a significant slowdown in the economy, if not an outright recession, next year. you've already seen the stock market down more than 20%. if you look at some of these speculative areas like cryptocurrencies and nfts we've seen declines of over 50% in prices there. there is a lot of pain and people see it in their 401(k)s. no doubt about it. it's really been no place to hide in the market. even in traditional bond funds, you've been probably losing money as interest rates go up. >> so we can set budgets. we can cut our spending. it's hard for folks here in the bay area to cut that funding, are cut our spending, i should say him up but is there

bank. in pittsburg i want to start with this we have a brush fire that started burning early on in the wind right now is still pretty breezy but they are expected to get dusty into the afternoon. at least the temperatures will help. 57 degrees in san francisco with the wind from the west it 12 expect the wind to pick up into the afternoon we did get a mix of sun and clouds we have been enjoying clear conditions. today we keep the cloud cover and that will help us stay cool and comfortable. 62 degrees by 10:00. by 1:00 we will still be in the 60s. only expected to top out in the upper 60s and low 70s. 49 degrees in santa rosa. in the north bay you see similar conditions. bumping up by lunch time into the 60s. let's get to the wind. this is another factor that will play into your plans. by 10:00 known as the winds will pick up in santa rosa and down to the south bay. we stay light and breezy but around 2:30 or 3:00 is when the onshore flow kicks in and look at the wind. 20 plus miles per hour at the

good friday morning. anna and sonoma contacted tulum window respondo picture book the flight from san francisco to mexico city but when she tried to fly the airline said someone else used her ticket. anna had to buy a ticket on the spot at a skyhigh price of $1780. she expected the airline to investigate what happened with her original ticket and give her a refund of the new ticket

monday. first, breaking news we are following in the east bay. also, breaking this morning, the brushfire evacuation order that has been lifted in pittsburgh, as there's about 200 acres that were burned in that fire in the nature preserve. it happened just around midnight, and we do know that the forward progress of the fire has been stopped, although the fire is not contained fully at this point. firefighters, still working on that this morning. >> we do have a live look at the scene here. those residents are asked to use caution when returning back to their homes, because the evacuation has been lifted. we are told, crews plan to be on the scene for several more hours. >> wind, always a critical factor with firefighting.our meteorologist has been tracking those. we have been seeing some pretty

with updated information from bob redell. bob, what did you just learn? >> reporter: the 200 acre wildfire has been contained. there's a couple of firefighters up there in their vehicles, doing what they call a mop up, mandatory evacuations on jaclyn drive, an neighborhood out east of highway 4 with people able to come back into their homes now. cell phone video from overnight the people shot with fire starting on the area of the ridgeline around 2:00 this morning. fortunately, even though it was windy there -- and still wendy this morning -- the wind was blowing the fire's flames away from the homes. so, the effort of the firefighters helped, and no damage and no injuries. this time-lapse video from
