yesterday we saw the fire breakout, the tesla fire was moving off toward the east. the westerly wind kicking up at about 15 to 25 miles per hour has been spanning the flames and unfortunately not much containment there. it is cold this morning with low 60s that we had back to 93 degrees in that area today. with these hot and dry weather conditions more fires are possible as we tried to get containment on the fires already burning. for more information let's head out to . >> we have not been able to see any low or smoke from our glen ridge point. to play a good indication that the fire was suppressed overnight by these cooler temperatures and that gave firefighters an opportunity to increase the containment there are three significant fires burning here in the east bay. this is the tesla inc. higher burning of up tesla road

in the rural part of east livermore at 300 acres and 10% containment according to the most recent update last night from cal fire firefighters believe it started yesterday afternoon after a car ran into a tree. the second fire in the one i am closest to started earlier in the day, the canyon fire at 71 acres and 10% from it contained. that's according to last night's update from cal fire. the fremont firefighter was hurt when a tree fell during the water drop. the firefighter was treated and released and is expected to be okay and people who live in the golden eagle states here in pleasanton who were evacuated they have been allowed back home. >> it happened pretty quick. we did not have any notice really. i saw the fire come over the ridge and the smoke first before we got a real evacuation and it hit us pretty quickly

son mason. a woman and girls who were with them survived as did the rafting guide. >> that is so sad. that summer who survived the shark attack this week is speaking out for the first week about his brush with death. happened wednesday off lovers. surveillance video shows other beach visitors pulling that man to safety. the 62-year-old is recovering from surgery. he's been making swims in monterey bay for 10 years. he is described not knowing if he would survive he said it seemed really lucky that the shark bit him in the spot that seemed survivable. he said i was in the ambulance thinking i don't know if i would survive but at least i could breathe. then i don't remember anything for a while we spoke with one of the surgeons who operated on him. he said the shark merrily missed some major arteries. >> there was not any organ

damage or arterial damage or bone damage. he got very, very lucky one of the luckiest patients are seen in the last decade, honestly. he stays in good spirits and continues to heal. >> part of his luck is that a doctor and nurse were on the short helpin paramedics arrived teachers will remain closed through at least saturday. now to and crisis in california ranks as worst in the nation for air pollution. a new report released by the air quality index finds 19 of the 20 worst counties in the nation for pollution in 2020 are right here in california. mariposa county and sierra foothills rank the worst with the average life expectancy estimated to drop to nearly two years. one major factor contributing to the pollution are recent wildfires and none of the counties were in the bay area.
