somebody clearly had a mental breakdown. i don't even want to ascribe it to mental health i want to talk about the fact that there are weapons of war on our streets that people can legally obtain and take out dozens of people our community is never going to recover from this wound. we are a strong group of people. many, many generations live here together that's one unique thing that people come back to raise their children their grandparents are with them this is a devastating blow to all of us. i'd rather focus on why do we as a nation allow this to happen with regularity. >> i can't tell you how many mayors i heard of that i'm aware of because of their own tragedies. and it is like here we are again. >> i never thought i would be

>> so i was near the bulk of the parade route, the middle the north side of central where i believe the gunman began shooting across the street i immediately ran across the street to see what help i could give >> that's where i believe you sprang into action and volunteered to help treat someone at the scene >> yes, i did. i asked the first responders who they believed were the most critical there was numerous people they already declared dead. there was an elderly gentleman profusely bleeding from the abdomen.
