the 1973 nixon era act now protects over 600 species from the effects of human development and climate change according to the associated press the family of emmett till is speaking out and urging authorities to serve a recently found arrest warrant for the white woman that accused till of making improper advances at her in 1955. the warrant was filed last week. nearly 70 years after till was kidnapped and brutally murdered. patrice clark from our affiliate wldg in jackson, mississippi has the story. >> you see all the things that were done to his body. and you don't think that affects not only our family, but people. >> reporter: emmett till's cousin priscilla sterling filled with emotion and tears as she talked about how the 14-year-old was beaten and killed in mississippi back in 1955 after

caroline bryant dunham accused him of whistling at him. they were later acquitted in the case 67 years later an unserved arrest warrant for donham was found in the basement of the courthouse >> i was actually called to meet them that morning and i had to work, teacher and summer program. but people show up, my cousin deborah watts and her daughter and son-in-law get here that morning. and it took them an hour and a half to find the warrant >> reporter: till's cousin believes the discovery of this parent serves as new evidence of this case. in fact, sterling says her family wants the district attorney for the 4th circuit court of mississippi dwayne richardsonto serve the warrant because they want donham who is now in her 80s arrested. she now lives in north carolina. the families are calling on the justice department to reopen this case. last year, they officially closed the investigation into
