you see the missed from emeryville and it could be some damp roadways. it's not a major concern. chp is not concerned but i want to make my body easier so use caution. there could be slick conditions because during the dry season there could be some grease and a little bit of missed could create a slippery layer. the smooth flow of traffic around the bay. a smooth drive in the south bay and niles canyon, overnight closure in the could be an issue in the north bay. i'm checking on a crash perhaps in vallejo. we start with breaking news . moving you forward on covid booster shots. the white house confirms an updated booster shot will arrive in september. pfizer and moderna said they expect to have them ready. it's not clear if the new shot will supersede the second booster shot approved for people over 50 or if all three boosters will provide full protection. the new version is expected to perform better against the current ba.5 sub variant.

right now there is no exact release date. san francisco declared a state of emergency response to the monkeypox outbreak. one of the first major u.s. cities to make the declaration and with 281 confirmed cases there's a higher amount than most states. >> monkeypox is not spread as easily as covid and he won't get it without prolonged skin to skin contact with someone who is already infected but as cheryl hurd reports, concerns and sentences go are running high. >> we are at a very scary place and we don't want to be ignored by the federal government in our need. >> reporter: mayor london breed sounding the alarm declaring a local emergency for the monkeypox vaccine. the san francisco director of health. >> this declaration will allow us to serve the city and its residents better.

>> reporter: the declaration begins monday and allows the city to prepare and allocate resources to prevent the spread of the virus. california has 800 monkeypox cases on the books. san francisco has 261, outnumbering all other cities in the state. >> if there were any other community that was disproportionately impacted by it monkeypox the way the gay committee has been impacted, this whole country would be up in arms . so let's not treat this community different then we would anyone else. >> it's really tough to be in the lgbtq a community and ask for a vaccine to say, hey, i want a monkeypox one. you're essentially coming up a lot of people want to be more discreet about it. >> reporter: the biden administration dancing within 780,000 doses of vaccine will be available friday. but it's not known who will get them and how many. so far san francisco has 12,000 doses and needs 70,000. the city has clinics ready to

san jose mayor sam liccardo is once again experiencing covid systems and has deposited after feeling sick late yesterday afternoon. this is the second recent positive test after getting infected in may. in a tweet he said in part, symptoms are minor with intermittent grumpiness. my apologies to anyone i may have exposed in recent hours or days. this morning there is a mystery surrounding a piece of bay area history. a woman trying to find the owner of a long-lost photo album that dates back nearly 150 years. as ian cull reports, how her family got the photos is as intriguing as thri foster's she a time capsule. the photos inside were all shot in the 1860s and '70s decades before the 1906 earthquake that destroyed much of san francisco.

>> this book, one thing leads to another to another to another and it's mind-boggling. >> reporter: she lives in chico but grew up in the bay area. most of the pictures were taken by a woman san francisco and oakland photographer at the time picked this one came from the dunham's new photo parlors and shows sharply dressed women and men with hairstylist and beards of the period, but she doesn't know who they are. >> been fiddling with this for about 20 years off and on. it's a bucket list wish that we find out who it belongs to >> reporter: to add to the mystery, the book was stolen. foster's father worked for police in the east bay and nabbed a burglary suspect in the '60s who had the album in his trunk no one claimed that after the trial so he kept it. >> i would not let him fill it at a yard sale because of a blonde with the family. or at least a museum. actually has a little bit of color in it.

good friday morning. we do see some areas of drizzle as you wake up around san francisco. 56 degrees with lots of clouds and drizzle closer to the tri- valley. not as much in san francisco on 580 in dublin. 63 and san jose and mild. through late morning we see those low clouds retreat back to the coastline and stay around the central be into the afternoon. temperatures won't change much. in the 60s from san francisco

through oakland. upper 70s and low 80s. fairfield and morgan hill should see temperatures in the upper 80s. we don't have a smoke advisory today as the seabreeze is helping us. it's not just the seabreeze but the fact that the oak fire has decreased inactivity compared to earlier this week. what is on the increase is the humidity. you will notice that this weekend. it will feel buggy. areas of green showing that mid- level moisture which may combined with a system to the west that could bring a slight chance for showers this weekend. i don't think we will see much on saturday but look at sunday. areas of green showing a possible isolated shower along with cloudy skies mixed with sunshine on sunday. a better chance right here monday morning. this is typically the driest time of year and we could see a few showers passing by once we get out of the weekend. san francisco temperatures in

woman at the time, i felt our rights are being eroded. i did not think that women had as much access as they should have. just because you have a right, if you don't have access, is it really a right? and we had students come to us from uc, berkeley who wanted to know if we would be willing to author a bill that would allow medicated abortion on all uc campuses and it seems like the right thing to do. >> the pills are available to students starting january 1st. will the cost be covered by the uc system will students have to pay out-of-pocket? >> some students would have to pay out-of-pocket's but it would be $60-$60 ticket would not be cost prohibitive if they went somewhere else and it has been a special fund set up. things have changed also. when we did this bill we made sure there was a special fund set up so that would be no tax payer dollars going towards this. but now we have a governor who believes that women should always have access to abortion and so public dollars are being

used but in this case there is a private fund set up >> this is interesting. according to the reproductive health report by ucsf within 6000 students will seek medication abortions on you see and cal state campuses every year. this bill will help others who are potentially coming to the state of california or who live here who are seeking abortions at clinics. >> yes. we think what will happen now is that women, students come access to medicated abortion on campus. this will free up appointments, slots if you will, at other clinics up and down the state. i know that a plan parent clinic visited in san bernardino said they'd seen an uptick one week after roe v. wade have been overturned of 900% of people seeking services. >> it is important to note many antiabortion groups including california family council oppose the requirement picking
